ذِكْرُ خَبَرٍ ثَانٍ يُوهِمُ مَنْ لَمْ يُحْكِمْ صِنَاعَةَ الْحَدِيثِ أَنَّ تَمَامَ الشَّهْرِ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ دُونَ أَنْ يَكُونَ ثَلَاثِينَ

ibnhibban:3450 – Abū Khalīfah > Musaddad b. Musarhad > Abū Muʿāwiyah > al-Aʿmash > Abū Ṣāliḥ > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "How many days in the month?" meaning Ramadan. We said, "Twenty-two remained, and eight have passed." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Twenty-two have passed, and there remain seven, so seek it tonight." Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The month is like this and this," three times, ten, ten, twice, and one, nine.  

ابن حبّان:٣٤٥٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «كَمْ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ؟ » يَعْنِي رَمَضَانَ قُلْنَا ثِنْتَانِ وَعِشْرُونَ وَبَقِيَ ثَمَانٍ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَضَتْ ثِنْتَانِ وَعِشْرُونَ وَبَقِيَ سَبْعٌ فَاطْلُبُوهَا اللَّيْلَةَ» ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا» ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ عَشَرَةً عَشَرَةً مَرَّتَيْنِ وَوَاحِدَةٌ تِسْعَةٌ

bayhaqi:8541 – Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ > ʿAbdullāh b. Muḥammad b. Mūsá > Muḥammad b. Ayyūb > Muḥammad b. ʿAbdullāh b. Numayr

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , asked: "How many days are left of the month?" We replied: "Twenty-two have passed and there are eight left." He said: "Twenty-two have passed and there are seven left. Seek it on the twenty-ninth night."  

البيهقي:٨٥٤١ – وَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُوسَى ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ ثنا خَلَّادٌ الْجُعْفِيُّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَائِدُ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ ذَكَرْنَا لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ فَقَالَ

رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَمْ مَضَى مِنَ الشَّهْرِ؟ قُلْنَا اثْنَتَانِ وَعِشْرُونَ وَبَقِيَ ثَمَانٍ فَقَالَ مَضَى اثْنَتَانِ وَعِشْرُونَ وَبَقِيَ سَبْعٌ اطْلُبُوهَا اللَّيْلَةَ الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ

"عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ كَمْ مَضَى مِنَ الشَّهْرِ؟ قَالُوا: مَضَتِ اثْنَتَانِ وَعشْرُونَ وَبَقِى ثَمْانٍ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ الله ﷺ بَلْ مَضَتْ ثِنْتَانِ وَعِشْرُونَ، وَبَقِى سَبْع، فَاطْلُبُوها اللَّيْلَةَ - يَعْنِى فَإِنَّ الشَّهْر لَا يَتِمُّ".
