It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: "A man proposed to a woman from among the Ansar and the Messenger of Allah said to him: 'Have you seen her?' He said: 'No.' So he told him to look at her."

لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ هَلْ نَظَرْتَ إِلَيْهَا قَالَ لاَ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَيْهَا

It was narrated that Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah said: "I proposed marriage to a woman during the time of the Messenger of Allah, and the Prophet said: 'Have you seen her?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'Look at her, for that is more likely to create love between you.'"

خَطَبْتُ امْرَأَةً عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنَظَرْتَ إِلَيْهَا قُلْتُ لاَ قَالَ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَجْدَرُ أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا

Mughirah bin Shubah wanted to marry a woman. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: “Go and look at her, for that is more likely to create love between you.” So he did that, and married her, and mentioned how well he got along with her.

لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا فَفَعَلَ فَتَزَوَّجَهَا فَذَكَرَ مِنْ مُوَافَقَتِهَا

It was narrated that Al-Mughirah bin Shu'bah said: "I proposed marriage to a woman during the time of the Messenger of Allah, and the Prophet said: 'Have you seen her?' I said: 'No.' He said: 'Look at her, for that is more likely to create love between you.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3235)

لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَظَرْتَ إِلَيْهَا؟ قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Go and look at it, as it is more deserving to be preserved between you.' He went and looked at it and remembered the agreement between them."

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا» قَالَ فَذَهَبَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَيْهَا فَذَكَرَ مِنْ مُوَافَقَتِهَا

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Go and look at her, as it is more appropriate for a decision to be made between you two."

لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «اذْهَبْ فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَجْدَرُ أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا»

[AI] I proposed to a girl from the Ansar and I mentioned it to the Prophet ﷺ. He asked, "Have you seen her?" I said, "No." He said, "Then look at her, for it is more appropriate that there be compatibility between you."

خَطَبْتُ جَارِيَةً مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «رَأَيْتَهَا؟» قُلْتُ لَا قَالَ «فَانْظُرْ إِلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أَنْ يُؤْدَمَ بَيْنَكُمَا»

"إِذهب فانْظُرْ إِلَيها، فإِنَّهُ أَحْرَى أن (يؤدَمَ) بينَكُمَا".

"انظر إِليها؛ فإِنه أحْرَى أن يُؤدَم بينكما".
