Prophet said (to two persons), "Whenever the prayer time becomes due, you should pronounce Adhan and then Iqama and the older of you should lead the prayer."
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَأَذِّنَا وَأَقِيمَا ثُمَّ لِيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا
Two men came to the Prophet ﷺ with the intention of a journey. The Prophet ﷺ said, "When (both of) you set out, pronounce Adhan and then Iqama and the oldest of you should lead the prayer."
أَتَى رَجُلاَنِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يُرِيدَانِ السَّفَرَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا أَنْتُمَا خَرَجْتُمَا فَأَذِّنَا ثُمَّ أَقِيمَا ثُمَّ لِيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا
On my departure from the Prophet ﷺ he said to me and to a friend of mine, "You two, pronounce the Adhan and the Iqama for the prayer and let the elder of you lead the prayer."
انْصَرَفْتُ مِنْ عِنْدِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ لَنَا أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لِي أَذِّنَا وَأَقِيمَا وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا
I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ along with a companion of mine, and when we intended to return from him, he said: When there is time for prayer, announce prayer, pronounce Iqama, and the oldest amongst you should lead the prayer.
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لِي فَلَمَّا أَرَدْنَا الإِقْفَالَ مِنْ عِنْدِهِ قَالَ لَنَا إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَأَذِّنَا ثُمَّ أَقِيمَا وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا
"A cousin of mine and I arrived as guests of Messenger of Allah. He said to us: 'When you travel then call the Adhan and Iqamah and let the eldest of you lead the prayer.'"
قَدِمْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَا وَابْنُ عَمٍّ لِي فَقَالَ لَنَا إِذَا سَافَرْتُمَا فَأَذِّنَا وَأَقِيمَا وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا
"I came to the Prophet ﷺ with a cousin of mine" - on an another occasion he said: "with a companion of mine" - "and he said: 'When the two of you travel, call the Adhan and the Iqamah, and let the older of you lead the prayer.'"
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنَا وَابْنُ عَمٍّ لِي وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لِي فَقَالَ إِذَا سَافَرْتُمَا فَأَذِّنَا وَأَقِيمَا وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me and to a companion of mine: 'When the time for prayer comes, let the two of you call the Adhan then the two of you say Iqamah, then let one of you lead the prayer.'"
لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَلِصَاحِبٍ لِي إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَأَذِّنَا ثُمَّ أَقِيمَا ثُمَّ لْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَحَدُكُمَا
"I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with a cousin of mine" - once he said, "with a friend of mine" - and he said: 'When you travel, call the Adhan and Iqamah, and let the older of you lead the prayer.'"
أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَا وَابْنُ عَمٍّ لِي وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لِي فَقَالَ إِذَا سَافَرْتُمَا فَأَذِّنَا وَأَقِيمَا وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا
“I came to the Prophet ﷺ with a friend of mine, and when we wanted to leave, he said to us: ‘When the time for prayer comes, say the Adhan and Iqamah, then let the older of you lead the prayer.’”
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لِي فَلَمَّا أَرَدْنَا الاِنْصِرَافَ قَالَ لَنَا إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَأَذِّنَا وَأَقِيمَا وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said to him and to his companion: 'When the prayer is due, both of you give the Adhan and establish it.' He said once, 'Then establish it, then let the one with the most knowledge among you lead the prayer.' Khalid said, 'So I asked Abu Qilaba, 'Where is the recitation?' He said, 'Indeed, they used to recite in a similar manner.'"
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ وَلِصَاحِبٍ لَهُ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَأَذِّنَا وَأَقِيمَا وَقَالَ مَرَّةً فَأَقِيمَا ثُمَّ لِيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا قَالَ خَالِدٌ فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي قِلَابَةَ فَأَيْنَ الْقِرَاءَةُ؟ قَالَ إِنَّهُمَا كَانَا مُتَقَارِبَيْنِ
"I came to the Prophet ﷺ with a cousin of mine" - on an another occasion he said: "with a companion of mine" - "and he said: 'When the two of you travel, call the Adhan and the Iqamah, and let the older of you lead the prayer.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 634)

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me and to a companion of mine: 'When the time for prayer comes, let the two of you call the Adhan then the two of you say Iqamah, then let one of you lead the prayer.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 669)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ وَلِصَاحِبٍ لَهُ «إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَأَذِّنَا ثُمَّ أَقِيمَا ثُمَّ لِيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا»
[Machine] The Prophet peace be upon him said to me and my fellow companion, "When you both go out, let one of you give the call to prayer and let the other one lead and make you both the imam (prayer leader), the one with the loudest voice among you."
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لِي وَلِصَاحِبٍ لِي «إِذَا خَرَجْتُمَا فَلْيُؤَذِّنْ أَحَدَكُمَا وَلْيَقُمْ وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you are with your companion, give the call to prayer (adhan) and establish the prayer (iqamah), and let the one who knows more of the Quran lead you in prayer."
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا كُنْتَ مَعَ صَاحِبِكَ فَأَذِّنْ وَأَقِمْ وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا»

[Machine] "That the Prophet ﷺ said to him and to his companion, 'When the prayer is due, then give the adhan and then establish it, and let the one amongst you who knows the Qur'an most, lead the prayer.'"
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ وَلِصَاحِبٍ لَهُ «إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَأَذِّنَا ثُمَّ أَقِيمَا وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا»
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said to him and his companion, "When the prayer is due, give the call to prayer and then establish the prayer, and let the one with the loudest voice lead you." So I said to Abu Qilabah, "Where is the recitation?" He said, "They used to have similar recitations."
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَهُ وَلِصَاحِبٍ لَهُ «إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَأَذِّنَا ثُمَّ أَقِيمَا وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا» فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِي قِلَابَةَ فَأَيْنَ الْقِرَاءَةُ؟ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُمَا كَانَا مُتَقَارِبَيْنِ

وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أَنَا وَصَاحِبٌ لِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «إِذَا سَافَرْتُمَا فَأَذِّنَا وَأَقِيمَا وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا»
Prophet said (to two persons), "Whenever the prayer time becomes due, you should pronounce Adhan and then Iqama and the older of you should lead the prayer." (Using translation from Bukhārī 658)
قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَلِصَاحِبٍ لِي «إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَأَذِّنَا ثُمَّ أَقِيمَا ثُمَّ لِيَؤُمَّكُمَا أَكْبَرُكُمَا»
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to us, "Pray as you have seen me praying. When the prayer time comes, let one of you give the call to prayer and the one among you who knows the most should lead the prayer."
قَالَ لَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلُّوا كَمَا رَأَيْتُمُونِي أُصَلِّي فَإِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَلْيُؤَذِّنْ لَكُمْ أَحَدُكُمْ وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَكْبَرُكُمْ
