bukhari:3802 – Muḥammad b. Bashhār > Ghundar > Shuʿbah > Abū Isḥāq > al-Barāʾ

A silken cloth was given as a present to the Prophet ﷺ . His companions started touching it and admiring its softness. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Are you admiring its softness? The handkerchiefs of Saʿd bin Muʿadh (in Paradise) are better and softer than it."  

البخاري:٣٨٠٢ – حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ ؓ يَقُولُ أُهْدِيَتْ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ حُلَّةُ حَرِيرٍ فَجَعَلَ أَصْحَابُهُ يَمَسُّونَهَا وَيَعْجَبُونَ مِنْ لِينِهَا فَقَالَ أَتَعْجَبُونَ مِنْ لِينِ هَذِهِ لَمَنَادِيلُ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا أَوْ أَلْيَنُ رَوَاهُ قَتَادَةُ وَالزُّهْرِيُّ سَمِعَا أَنَسًا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

Do you admire the softness of this (cloth)? The handkerchiefs of Sa'd b. Mu'adh in Paradise are better than this.

سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ يَقُولُ أُهْدِيَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ حُلَّةُ حَرِيرٍ فَجَعَلَ أَصْحَابُهُ يَلْمُسُونَهَا وَيَعْجَبُونَ مِنْ لِينِهَا فَقَالَ أَتَعْجَبُونَ مِنْ لِينِ هَذِهِ لَمَنَادِيلُ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ مِنْهَا وَأَلْيَنُ  

ahmad:18544 – Yaḥyá > Sufyān > Abū Isḥāq Qālasamiʿt al-Barāʾ

[Machine] He said: I heard Al-Bara' saying, "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ was brought a silk garment, so they were amazed by its beauty and softness. He said, 'Are the robes of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh in Paradise better or this one?'"  

أحمد:١٨٥٤٤ – حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ سُفْيَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ

قَالَسَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِثَوْبٍ حَرِيرٍ فَجَعَلُوا يَتَعَجَّبُونَ مِنْ حُسْنِهِ وَلِينِهِ فَقَالَ لَمَنَادِيلُ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَفْضَلُ أَوْ أَخْيَرُ مِنْ هَذَا  

ahmad:18685 – Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar > Shuʿbah > Abū Isḥāq > al-Barāʾ

ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ أَبَا إِسْحَاقَ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ هَذَا الْخَبَرَ مِنَ الْبَرَاءِ

ibnhibban:7036 – Muḥammad b. Isḥāq b. Ibrāhīm a freed slave of Thaqīf > Yaʿqūb b. Ibrāhīm al-Dawraqī > Abū Dāwud > Shuʿbah > Abū Isḥāq > al-Barāʾ

[Machine] I heard Al-Bara'ah saying, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was brought a silk garment, and they began to touch and marvel at its softness." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The handkerchiefs of Sa'd ibn Mu'adh in Paradise are softer than this or better than this."  

ابن حبّان:٧٠٣٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفٍ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ الْبَرَاءَ يَقُولُ أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِثَوْبِ حَرِيرٍ فَجَعَلُوا يَلْمَسُونَهُ وَيَتَعَجَّبُونَ مِنْ لِينِهِ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَمَنَادِيلُ سَعْدِ بْنِ مُعَاذٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ أَلْيَنُ مِنْ هَذَا أَوْ خَيْرٌ مِنْ هَذَا»
