"Umar mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he became Junub at night, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'Perform Wudu' and wash you penis, then sleep.'"

ذَكَرَ عُمَرُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ تُصِيبُهُ الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ تَوَضَّأْ وَاغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ ثُمَّ نَمْ

"The Prophet was asked about whether a person who is sexually impure can sleep, or eat, or drink. He said: 'yes, if he does ablution as for the prayer.'"

سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنِ الْجُنُبِ هَلْ يَنَامُ أَوْ يَأْكُلُ أَوْ يَشْرَبُ قَالَ نَعَمْ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلاَةِ

[AI] Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, asked the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, and said, "Can I experience sexual impurity (Janaba) during the night?" So he instructed him to "wash his private parts, perform ablution, and then go to sleep."

سَأَلَ عُمَرُ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ تُصِيبُنِي الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ؟ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ «يَغْسِلَ ذَكَرَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ يَرْقُدَ»

He went to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Sometimes I become junub. He told him to wash his private parts and do wudoo’ as for prayer (i.e., then go to sleep, and do ghusl before Fajr).

أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ إِنَّهُ تُصِيبُنِي الْجَنَابَةُ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَغْسِلَ ذَكَرَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلاةِ

I heard Ibn ʿUmar say: ʿUmar (...) asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : If I become junub at night; what should I do? He said: ʿWash your private part then do wudoo’ then go to sleep.”

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُسَأَلَ عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ تُصِيبُنِي الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَمَا أَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ اغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأْ ثُمَّ ارْقُدْ

[AI] "O Messenger of Allah, I experience janabah (major ritual impurity) during the night." He said, "Wash your private parts, then perform ablution, and then go to sleep."

يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ تُصِيبُنِي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ الْجَنَابَةُ فَقَالَ اغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأْ ثُمَّ ارْقُدْ

[AI] Umar asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "I experience seminal emission during the night. Should I wash my private parts and perform ablution?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed him to wash his private parts and then perform ablution.

سَأَلَ عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ تُصِيبُنِي الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ؟ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَغْسِلَ ذَكَرَهُ وَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ

[AI] Omar informed the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that impurity had come upon him at night, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed him to wash his genitals and perform ablution, then go to sleep.

أَنَّ عُمَرَ ذَكَرَ لِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّ الْجَنَابَةَ تُصِيبُهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَأَمَرَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ يَغْسِلَ ذَكَرَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ يَنَامَ

I heard Ibn ʿUmar say: ʿUmar (...) asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : If I become junub at night; what should I do? He said: ʿWash your private part then do wudoo’ then go to sleep.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 359)

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ سَأَلَ عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ تُصِيبُنِي الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَمَا أَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ اغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأْ ثُمَّ ارْقُدْ

[AI] Omar asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying, "I experience sexual impurity (janabah) at night." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ instructed him to wash his private parts, perform ablution, and go to sleep.

سَأَلَ عُمَرُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَتُصِيبُنِي الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَغْسِلَ ذَكَرَهُ وَيَتَوَضَّأَ وَيَرْقُدَ

"When the Messenger of Allah wanted to sleep and he was sexually impure, he would perform ablution as for prayer." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 584)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَنَامُ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ إِذَا تَوَضَّأَ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever touches his private parts should perform ablution (wudu) for prayer."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَنْ مَسَّ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ»

سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ إِنَّ عُمَرَ أَتَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ تُصِيبُنِي الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ «اغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ ثُمَّ تَوَضَّأْ ثُمَّ ارْقُدْ»

[AI] He heard Ibn Umar say that Umar mentioned to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he experiences sexual impurity (i.e., wet dream) at night. So, he (the Prophet) instructed him to perform ablution and wash his private parts, then go to sleep.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ ذَكَرَ عُمَرُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ تُصِيبُهُ الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ «فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ وَيَغْسِلَ ذَكَرَهُ ثُمَّ يَنَامَ»

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنِ الْجَنَابَةِ فَقَالَ تَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَكَ لِلصَّلَاةِ

قالت كان النبي ﷺ يتوضأ وضوءه للصلاة يعني في غسل الجنابة

قالت كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا أراد أن ينام أو يأكل وهو جنب توضأ وضوءه للصلاة

Can one of us sleep if he is junub? He said: ʿYes, if he does wudoo’ as for prayer.ʿ It was narrated from Ibn ʿUmar that ʿUmar asked the Prophet ﷺ... a similar hadeeth. (Using translation from Aḥmad 235)

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أَيَنَامُ أَحَدُنَا وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ؟ قَالَ «نَعَمْ وَيَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ»

[AI] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ if a person in a state of janabah can sleep? He said, "He should perform ablution for prayer."

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ الْجُنُبِ يَنَامُ؟ قَالَ «يَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ»

[AI] O Messenger of Allah, what should I do if I experience sexual impurity during the night? The Prophet replied, "Wash your private parts, perform ablution, and then go to sleep."

عُمَرُ ؓ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ تُصِيبُنِي الْجَنَابَةُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ اغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ وَتَوَضَّأْ ثُمَّ ارْقُدْ

"قَالَ عُمَرُ: يَا رَسُول اللهِ! تُصِيبُنِى الْجَنَابَةُ منَ اللَّيْلِ فَكَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ؟ قَالَ: اغْسِلْ ذَكَرَكَ وَتَوَضَّأ، ثُمَّ ارْقُدْ".
