6. Two ʿĪd (Eid) Ṣalāhs
I asked Anas bin Malik while we were proceeding from Mina to ʿArafat, "What do you use to do on this day when you were with Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?" Anas said, "Some of us used to recite Talbiya and nobody objected to that, and others used to recite Takbir and nobody objected to that." (Using translation from Bukhārī 1659)
[Machine] With the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at the dawn of Arafah, there were amongst us those who were loud in their takbeer (saying Allahu Akbar) and those who were saying the tasbih (glorifying Allah). As for us, we were saying the takbeer. He (the narrator) said, "I said, 'By Allah, I am amazed at you. Why did you not ask him (the Prophet) what you saw him doing?' This is the wording of the narration of Abu Zakariyya bin Abi Ishaq from Abu Abdullah Ash-Shaybani."
[Machine] He used to prolong his prayer from the Dhuhr prayer on the Day of Sacrifice to the Asr prayer on the last days of Tashriq, even if he was in Attah during the time of the Caliph Umar ibn Al-Khattab.
[Machine] Ali used to make takbeer (say "Allahu Akbar") after the Fajr prayer on the day of Arafah, and he would continue to do so until the imam prayed the last days of Tashreeq. Then he would make takbeer after Asr prayer, and so on.
[Machine] He used to recite takbeer from the morning of Arafah until the Asr prayer of the last days of Tashreeq. Abu Hazim al-Haafiz informed us, Abu Ahmad Muhammad bin Muhammad al-Haafiz informed us, Abu al-Hasan Muhammad bin Ahmad bin Zuhayr al-Qaysi from Tous, narrating from Ali bin Salamah, known as al-Labaqi, narrating from Yahya bin Adam, narrating from Abu Ya'qub al-Khorasani, meaning Ishaq bin Ibrahim al-Hanzhali, from Yahya bin Said al-Qattan, narrating from al-Hakam who mentioned it in a similar manner and added that he would recite takbeer during Asr and would stop reciting during Maghrib.
[Machine] He used to make takbeer from the morning of the Day of Arafah until the end of the days of Tashreeq. Muhammad ibn Raafi' said: I met Ishaq ibn Ibrahim and I said: Yahya ibn Adam told me about you, from Yahya ibn Sa'id, so I mentioned this hadith to him (Ishaq). So he narrated to me as Yahya ibn Adam narrated to me. Abu al-Abbas said: I went to Ishaq and I said: Muhammad ibn Raafi' narrated to me about you from Yahya ibn Adam, so narrate to me as Muhammad ibn Raafi' narrated to me. Abu al-Abbas said: I said to Ishaq: How many hadiths did Yahya ibn Adam narrate from you? Ishaq said: About two thousand hadiths, and it has been reported in a hadeeth marfoo' with an isnaad that cannot be relied upon.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to perform the Dhuhr prayer after the Fajr prayer on the day of Arafah, during the last days of Tashreeq. Yaḥyā ibn Ayyūb and ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Muṣhir narrated this hadith through a similar chain of narration from ʿAmr ibn Shamir and Jābir al-Juʿfi, and their narrations cannot be used as evidence as they have been criticized.
