[Machine] Narrated Ubaidullah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Anas ibn Malik, the servant of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ : Anas used to gather his family and lead them in prayer similar to the prayer of the Imam on the day of Eid, when he missed the congregational prayer with the Imam. It is also narrated from Anas ibn Malik that when he was in his house in the corner and did not witness the Eid prayer in Basra, he would gather his dependents and his children, then he would command his slave, Abdullah ibn Abi Utbah, to lead them in prayer like the people of Egypt, with two units of prayer and they would say the takbirs like they do. And it is narrated from al-Hasan al-Basri that if the traveler catches up with the day of sacrifice (Eid al-Adha), he said: "That would suffice." And when the sun rises, he prays two units of prayer and performs the forenoon prayer, if he wishes. And it is narrated from Ikrimah that the people of As-Sawad (an area in Iraq) would gather on the day of Eid and pray two units of prayer, just like the Imam does. And Muhammad ibn Sireen said: "It was preferred that if a man missed the prayer on both Eids, he would go to the graves and perform the prayer as the Imam does." And Ata' said that if a person missed the Eid prayer, he should pray two units of prayer, and there is no takbir in them.
