6. Two ʿĪd (Eid) Ṣalāhs
٦۔ كِتَابُ صَلَاةِ الْعِيدَيْنِ
ʿUmar bought a silk cloak from the market, took it to Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! Take it and adorn yourself with it during the ʿId and when the delegations visit you." Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "This dress is for those who have no share (in the Hereafter)." After a long period Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent to ʿUmar a cloak of silk brocade. ʿUmar came to Messenger of Allah ﷺ with the cloak and said, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! You said that this dress was for those who had no share (in the Hereafter); yet you have sent me this cloak." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to him, "Sell it and fulfill your needs by it." (Using translation from Bukhārī 948)
