6. Two ʿĪd (Eid) Ṣalāhs
[Machine] I heard someone who was pleased from the people of knowledge of the Quran saying, "So you complete the count of fasting the month of Ramadan, and you magnify Allah upon its completion according to what He has guided you, and its completion is when the sun sets on the last day of the month of Ramadan." Abu Sa'id bin Abi 'Amr informed us about that, Abu al-'Abbas narrated to us from Ash-Shafi'i who said, "The Shaykh informed me, and it reached me from Sa'id bin Jubair, from Ibn Abbas in his statement, 'And mention the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him in prayer' [Al-Ala, 15]' He said, 'Mention Allah while heading towards the 'Eid prayer.'"
[Machine] He used to recite takbeer on the night of Eid until he reached the prayer place, and the mention of the night in it is strange.
[Machine] And he said on the day of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, and this is the correct one that is reported from two weak narrators, raised up, as for which of them is more exemplary...
[Machine] Allah's Messenger ﷺ used to go out on the two Eid days accompanied by Al-Fadl ibn Abbas, Abdullah ibn Abbas, Al-Abbas, Ali, Ja'far, Al-Hasan, Al-Husain, Usamah ibn Zaid, Zaid ibn Harithah, and Ayman ibn Umm Ayman, raising his voice with saying "Tahlil" and "Takbir." He would take the path of the blacksmiths until he reached the place of prayer. And when he finished, he would return through the street of the shoemakers until he came to his house.
[Machine] He informed him that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say the takbeer on the morning of Eid from the time he left his house until he reached the prayer place. The narration of Musa bin Muhammad bin Ataa is weak, and the narration of Al-Walid bin Muhammad Al-Muqri is weak and cannot be relied upon. The hadith that has been preserved from Ibn Umar's statement and has been narrated from Ali bin Abi Talib and a group of the Prophet's companions ﷺ, who have narrated it from Ibn Umar about the takbeer at dawn when going to the prayer place.
[Machine] They were louder in their takbeer during Eid al-Fitr than they were during Eid al-Adha. Al-Shafi'i narrated with his chain of transmission from a group of the Tabi'in that they used to make takbeer loudly in the mosque on the night of Eid al-Fitr. And from another group of them, their takbeer was loud when they went out to the prayer place at dawn.
[Machine] What is wrong with them that they do not exalt [Allah]? By Allah, indeed they have done so, for you have seen us in the army, what cannot be seen on both sides, the man exalts and the one behind him exalts until the army resounds with exaltation. And indeed, between you and them is as between the lower earth and the upper heaven.
