6. Two ʿĪd (Eid) Ṣalāhs
[Machine] A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "O Messenger of Allah, are there any times during the day and night when it is forbidden for me to pray?" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If you pray Fajr (dawn prayer), then shorten your prayer until the sun has risen; for it rises between the horns of Satan. Then the prayer is forbidden, but acceptable, until midday. When midday comes, then shorten your prayer until the sun starts to decline; for at that time it is as if Hell is kindled and the intensity of the heat is from a breath of Hell. When the sun sets, then the prayer is seen but forbidden, until you pray Asr (afternoon prayer). When you pray Asr, then shorten your prayer until the sun sets; then the prayer is seen but forbidden, until you pray Fajr."
[Machine] I saw Anas ibn Malik, Hasan ibn Abi Hasan, Jabir ibn Zaid, and Saeed ibn Abi Hasan praying before the Imam on the day of Eid.
[Machine] I saw Abu Burdah praying on the day of Eid before the imam.
[Machine] He used to see the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray two units of prayer in the mosque on Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr, and they would not return to it. With this chain of narrators, it is reported from Ibn Abi Dhi'b, from 'Isa ibn Sahl ibn Rafi' ibn Khadijah al-Ansari, that he used to see his grandfather Rafi' and his sons sitting in the mosque until the sun rose, then they would pray two units of prayer, then they would go to the musalla. Ibn Abi Dhi'b said: I asked him, "Did they used to return to it?" He said, "I do not know."
[Machine] Indeed, Allah does not reject the good deeds that His servant does for Him.
[Machine] Buraida used to pray on the Day of EId and the Day of Sacrifice before the imam.
[Machine] I saw my father perform ablution on the day of the Feast, then he prayed four units of prayer with his family. Then he took my hand and we went to the place of prayer, positioning ourselves near the Imam so that he could hear. When the prayer was completed, he did not pray before or after it until he left his family and returned. Then he prayed four units of prayer with his family upon his return. It has been narrated from Sa'id bin Al-Musayyib that he used to pray on the day of the Feast before the Imam prayed. And it has been narrated from 'Urwah bin Az-Zubair that he used to pray on the day of the Breaking of the Fast before and after the prayer in the mosque. And it has been narrated from Al-Qasim bin Muhammad that he used to pray before going to the prayer place four units of prayer. And it has been narrated from Muhammad bin Sirin that he used to pray eight units of prayer after the Feast prayer and disliked praying before or after it in congregation. He disliked it before the prayer, but did not dislike it after the prayer. Some of them disliked congregational prayer in the prayer place, but did not dislike it in the mosque or at home. And on the day of the Feast, prayer is permissible at the time when the sun has risen, wherever the prayer place is. And success is from Allah.
