ahmad:9041 – ʿAffān > Hammām > Qatādah > ʿAbd al-Raḥman a freed slave of Um Burthun Ḥaddath > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] Abdulrahman, the servant of Umm Burthun, narrated from Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Allah has made Friday a prescribed day for those before us, but they differed regarding it. Allah has guided us to it, so the people are followers for us on it. The Jews have Saturday, and the Christians have Sunday.  

أحمد:٩٠٤١ – حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ

أَنَّ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ مَوْلَى أُمِّ بُرْثُنٍ حَدَّثَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ كَتَبَ اللهُ الْجُمُعَةَ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهَا وَهَدَانَا اللهُ لَهَا فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهَا تَبَعٌ فَلِلْيَهُودِ غَدًا وَلِلنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'We are the last (to come) but will be the foremost on the Day of Resurrection, but they were given the Book before us and we were given it after them. They differed concerning this day which Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, had prescribed for them and Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, guided us to"--meaning Friday--"so the people follow us, the Jews the next day and the Christians the day after that.'"  

النسائي:١٣٦٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَابْنُ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَحْنُ الآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ بَيْدَ أَنَّهُمْ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ وَهَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي كَتَبَ اللَّهُ ﷻ عَلَيْهِمْ فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ فَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ ﷻ لَهُ يَعْنِي يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهِ تَبَعٌ الْيَهُودُ غَدًا وَالنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Verily, Allah has ordained Friday for those before us, but they differed regarding it. Allah has guided us to it, so the people are following us in it. Tomorrow it will be a holiday for the Jews, and the day after tomorrow for the Christians."

[Machine] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Indeed, Allah has prescribed Friday upon those before us, but they differed regarding it. Allah has guided us to it, and the people are subservient to us. The Jews have Friday tomorrow, and the Christians the day after tomorrow."

Allah has guided us to it, so the people are followers for us on this day. Today is for us, tomorrow is for the Jews, and the day after tomorrow is for the Christians. For the Jews, it is the day of Saturday, and for the Christians, it is the day of Sunday."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ كَتَبَ الْجُمُعَةَ عَلَى مَنْ كَانَ قَبْلَنَا فَاخْتَلَفَ النَّاسُ فِيهَا وَهَدَانَا اللهُ لَهَا فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهَا تَبَعٌ فَالْيَوْمُ لَنَا وَلِلْيَهُودِ غَدًا وَلِلنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ لِلْيَهُودِ يَوْمُ السَّبْتِ وَلِلنَّصَارَى يَوْمُ الْأَحَدِ
