Messenger of Allah ﷺ said "We are the last (to come amongst the nations) but (will be) the foremost on the Day of Resurrection. They were given the Holy Scripture before us and we were given the Quran after them. And this was the day (Friday) about which they differed and Allah gave us the guidance (for that). So tomorrow (i.e. Saturday) is the Jews' (day), and the day after tomorrow (i.e. Sunday) is the Christians'." The Prophet ﷺ remained silent (for a while) and then said, "It is obligatory for every Muslim that he should take a bath once in seven days, when he should wash his head and body."  

رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَحْنُ الآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ فَهَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ فَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ فَغَدًا لِلْيَهُودِ وَبَعْدَ غَدٍ لِلنَّصَارَى فَسَكَتَ ثُمَّ قَالَ حَقٌّ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ فِي كُلِّ سَبْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ يَوْمًا يَغْسِلُ فِيهِ رَأْسَهُ وَجَسَدَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ حَقٌّ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ فِي كُلِّ سَبْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ يَوْمًا يَغْسِلُ فِيهِ رَأْسَهُ وَجَسَدَهُ  

We who are the last would be the first on the Day of Resurrection but they (other Ummahs) were given the Book before us and we were given after them, and this was the day that was prescribed for them but they disagreed on it. And Allah guided us to it. and they came after us with regard to it, the Jews observing the next day and the Christians the day following that.  

عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَحْنُ الآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بَيْدَ أَنَّهُمْ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ وَهَذَا يَوْمُهُمُ الَّذِي فُرِضَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ فَهَدَانَا اللَّهُ لَهُ فَهُمْ لَنَا فِيهِ تَبَعٌ فَالْيَهُودُ غَدًا وَالنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ  

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "We are the last ones to enter Paradise, but the first ones on the Day of Resurrection, even though the people before us were given the Book before us, and we were given it after them. And today is the day we were commanded to observe, but they disagreed about it. So Allah made it our holiday. So today belongs to us, tomorrow to the Jews, and the day after tomorrow to the Christians."

The Prophet ﷺ said, "We (Muslims) are the last in the world, but will be foremost on the Day of Resurrection." (Using translation from Bukhārī 6624)

They differed concerning this day which Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, had prescribed for them and Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, guided us to"--meaning Friday--"so the people follow us, the Jews the next day and the Christians the day after that.'" قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ بَيْدَ أَنَّهُمْ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ وَهَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي كَتَبَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِمْ فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ فَهَدَانَا اللهُ لَهُ يَعْنِي يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ فَالنَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهِ تَبَعٌ الْيَهُودُ غَدًا وَالنَّصَارَى بَعْدَ غَدٍ»

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ بَيْدَ أَنَّ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابِ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَاهُ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ فَهَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ فَهَدَانَا اللهُ لَهُ فَغَدًا لِلْيَهُودِ وَبَعْدَ غَدٍ لِلنَّصَارَى ثُمَّ سَكَتَ ثُمَّ قَالَ حَقٌّ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ فِي كُلِّ سَبْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ يَوْمًا يَغْسِلُ رَأْسَهُ وَجَسَدَهُ  

The Prophet ﷺ said, "We are the last (to come) but we will be the foremost on the Day of Resurrection, nations were given the Book (i.e. Scripture) before us, and we were given the Holy Book after them. This (i.e. Friday) is the day about which they differed. So the next day (i.e. Saturday) was prescribed for the Jews and the day after it (i.e. Sunday) for the Christians. It is incumbent on every Muslim to wash his head and body on a Day (i.e. Friday) (at least) in every seven days." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3486)   

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ نَحْنُ الْآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِيَدِ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا وَأُوتِينَا مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ فَهَذَا الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي اخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ فَهَدَانَا اللهُ فَغَدًا لِلْيَهُودِ وَبَعْدَ غَدٍ لِلنَّصَارَى فَسَكَتَ وَقَالَ حَقٌّ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ فِي كُلِّ سَبْعَةِ أَيَّامٍ يَوْمًا يَغْسِلُ رَأْسَهُ وَجَسَدَهُ وَرَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ مُخْتَصَرًا  

"نَحْنُ الآخِرُونَ السَّابِقُونَ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ بَيدَ أَنَّهُمْ أُوتُوا الكِتَابَ مِنْ قَبْلنَا، وَأُوتِينَا مِنْ بَعْدهمْ، ثُمَّ هَذَا يَوْمُهُمْ الَّذِي فُرِضَ عَلَيهِمْ فَاخْتَلَفُوا فِيهِ فَهَدَانَا الله لَهُ، النَّاسُ لَنَا فِيهِ تَبَعٌ، اليَهُوَدُ غَدًا وَالنصَارَى بَعْد غَدٍ".
