The Prophet ﷺ said: When one of you gets up to pray, he must not remove pebbles, for mercy is facing him.  

أبو داود:٩٤٥ – حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ

عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ شَيْخٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا ذَرٍّ يَرْوِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ فَإِنَّ الرَّحْمَةَ تُوَاجِهُهُ فَلاَ يَمْسَحِ الْحَصَى

[Machine] "He heard Abu Dharr saying: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When any one of you stands for prayer, he is being faced by the mercy (of Allah). So let him not brush away his clothing or touch the pebbles.'

[Machine] He (Abu Dharr) heard Abu Dharr saying, "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'When one of you stands for prayer, mercy faces him, so he should not move or touch pebbles.'"

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا ذَرٍّ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا قَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ فَإِنَّ الرَّحْمَةَ تُوَاجِهُهُ فَلَا يُحَرِّكِ الْحَصَى أَوْ لَا يَمَسَّ الْحَصَى»
