"Indeed among the excellence of a person's Islam is that he leaves what does not concern him."  

الترمذي:٢٣١٧ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَمَاعَةَ عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ عَنْ قُرَّةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «مِنْ حُسْنِ إِسْلاَمِ الْمَرْءِ تَرْكُهُ مَا لاَ يَعْنِيهِ۔»  

قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Surely, of the excellence of a person's Islam is that he leaves what does not concern him."

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَهَكَذَا رَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ مَالِكٍ مُرْسَلاً وَهَذَا عِنْدَنَا أَصَحُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ لَمْ يُدْرِكْ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ
ibnmajah:3976 – Hishām b. ʿAmmār > Muḥammad b. Shuʿayb b. Shābūr > al-Awzāʿī > Qurrah b. ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Ḥaywaʾīl > al-Zuhrī > Abū Salamah > Abū Hurayrah

the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Of the perfection of one's Islam, is that he leaves that which does not concern him.”  

ابن ماجة:٣٩٧٦ – حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبِ بْنِ شَابُورَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ عَنْ قُرَّةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَيْوَئِيلَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «مِنْ حُسْنِ إِسْلاَمِ الْمَرْءِ تَرْكُهُ مَا لاَ يَعْنِيهِ۔»  

malik:47-3 – Mālik > Ibn Shihāb > ʿAlī b. Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī b. Abū Ṭālib

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Ali ibn Husayn ibn Ali ibn Abi Talib that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Part of the excellence of a man's Islam is that he leaves what does not concern him."  

مالك:٤٧-٣ – وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مِنْ حُسْنِ إِسْلاَمِ الْمَرْءِ تَرْكُهُ مَا لاَ يَعْنِيهِ
