Whenever the Prophet ﷺ returned from a journey in the forenoon, he would enter the Mosque and offer two rakʿat before sitting.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ إِذَا قَدِمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ ضُحًى دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not come back from the journey but by day in the forenoon, and when he arrived, he went first to the mosque, and having prayed two rak'ahs in it he sat down in it.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ لاَ يَقْدَمُ مِنْ سَفَرٍ إِلاَّ نَهَارًا فِي الضُّحَى فَإِذَا قَدِمَ بَدَأَ بِالْمَسْجِدِ فَصَلَّى فِيهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ فِيهِ

Ka’ab bin Malik said “The Prophet ﷺ used to arrive from a journey in the daytime. Al Hasan said “During the forenoon.” When he arrived from a journey he went first to the mosque where he prayed two rak’ahs after which he sat in it and gave audience to the people.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ لاَ يَقْدِمُ مِنْ سَفَرٍ إِلاَّ نَهَارًا قَالَ الْحَسَنُ فِي الضُّحَى فَإِذَا قَدِمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ أَتَى الْمَسْجِدَ فَرَكَعَ فِيهِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ جَلَسَ فِيهِ

[AI] "From his father Abdullah and his uncle Ubaidullah ibn Ka'ab, that Ka'ab ibn Malik reported: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to set out for travel only during the daytime. After that, he would enter the mosque and pray two units of prayer, then sit with the people.'"

عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَعَمِّهِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنَيْ كَعْبٍ عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ «أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ لَا يَقْدَمُ مِنْ سَفَرٍ إِلَّا بِالنَّهَارِ ضُحًى ثُمَّ يَدْخُلُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يَجْلِسُ لِلنَّاسِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ arrived, meaning from Tabuk, and he performed two units of prayer in the mosque. Whenever he would return from a journey, he would do that.

قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَعْنِي مِنْ تَبُوكَ فَصَلَّى فِي الْمَسْجِدِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَكَانَ إِذَا قَدِمَ مِنْ سَفَرٍ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to not embark on a journey except during the daytime. When he would arrive, he would start by going to the mosque and pray two units of prayer. Then he would sit in the mosque and Ibn Bakr narrated in his hadith from his father Abdullah ibn Ka'b ibn Malik, from his uncle...
