(who had piles) I asked Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the praying of a man while sitting. He said, "If he prays while standing it is better and he who prays while sitting gets half the reward of that who prays standing; and whoever prays while Lying gets half the reward of that who prays while sitting."

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ وَكَانَ مَبْسُورًا قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَلاَةِ الرَّجُلِ قَاعِدًا فَقَالَ إِنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَهْوَ أَفْضَلُ وَمَنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَائِمِ وَمَنْ صَلَّى نَائِمًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَاعِدِ

ʿImran bin Husain had piles. Once Abu Ma mar narrated from ʿImran bin Husain had said, "I asked the Prophet ﷺ about the prayer of a person while sitting. He said, 'It is better for one to pray standing; and whoever prays sitting gets half the reward of that who prays while standing; and whoever prays while Lying gets half the reward of that who prays while sitting.' "

سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلاَةِ الرَّجُلِ وَهْوَ قَاعِدٌ فَقَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَهْوَ أَفْضَلُ وَمَنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَائِمِ وَمَنْ صَلَّى نَائِمًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَاعِدِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ نَائِمًا عِنْدِي مُضْطَجِعًا هَا هُنَا

‘Imran b. Hussain asked the prophet ﷺ about the prayer a man offers in sitting condition. He replied: his prayer in standing condition is better than his prayer in sitting condition, and his prayer in sitting condition is half the prayer he offers in standing condition, and his prayer in lying condition is half the prayer he offers in sitting condition.

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلاَةِ الرَّجُلِ قَاعِدًا فَقَالَ صَلاَتُهُ قَائِمًا أَفْضَلُ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ قَاعِدًا وَصَلاَتُهُ قَاعِدًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ قَائِمًا وَصَلاَتُهُ نَائِمًا عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلاَتِهِ قَاعِدًا

"I asked Messenger of Allah (S) about the Salat for a man who is sitting. He said: 'Whoever performs Salat while standing then that is more virtuous. And whoever performs Salat while sitting, then he gets half the rewards of the one standing, and whoever performs Salat while lying down, then he gets half the rewards of the one sitting.'"

سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَلاَةِ الرَّجُلِ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ فَقَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ وَمَنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَائِمِ وَمَنْ صَلَّى نَائِمًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَاعِدِ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو وَأَنَسٍ وَالسَّائِبِ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ

"I asked the Prophet ﷺ about one who prays sitting down. He said: 'Whoever prays standing up is better, and one who prays sitting down will have half the reward of one who prays standing up. And whoever prays lying down will have half the reward of one who prays sitting down.'"

[AI] He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he was a well-off man about praying while sitting. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The prayer of the sitting person is half of the prayer of the standing one, and the prayer of the person lying down is half of the prayer of the sitting one."

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا مَيْسُورًا عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَاعِدِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «صَلَاةُ الْقَاعِدِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَائِمِ وَصَلَاةُ النَّائِمِ عَلَى النِّصْفِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَاعِدِ»

[AI] He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the prayer of a man while sitting, so he said: "His prayer while standing is better, and his prayer while sitting is equivalent to half of his prayer while standing, and his prayer while lying down is equivalent to half of his prayer while sitting."

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ قَاعِدًا فَقَالَ «صَلَاتُهُ قَائِمًا أَفْضَلُ وَصَلَاتُهُ قَاعِدًا عَلَى نِصْفٍ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَائِمًا وَصَلَاتُهُ نَائِمًا عَلَى نِصْفٍ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ قَاعِدًا»

"I asked the Prophet ﷺ about one who prays sitting down. He said: 'Whoever prays standing up is better, and one who prays sitting down will have half the reward of one who prays standing up. [AI] Imran ibn Husain asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about praying while sitting, and he ﷺ said, "Whoever prays while standing, it is better for him. And whoever prays while sitting, he will have half the reward of the one who prays while standing. And whoever prays while lying down, he will have half the reward of the one who prays while sitting."

عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَاعِدِ فَقَالَ ﷺ مَنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ وَمَنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَائِمِ وَمَنْ صَلَّى نَائِمًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَاعِدِ

[AI] I asked the Prophet ﷺ about the prayer of a person while sitting, and he said that whoever prays standing is better, and whoever prays sitting will have half the reward of the one who prays standing, and whoever prays while lying down will have half the reward of the one who prays sitting. This is mentioned in the Hadith of Abdullah bin Warith. And in the Hadith of Ishaq, it is mentioned that he asked the Prophet ﷺ about the prayer of a person sitting and the remaining of his prayer is similar to it. And in the Hadith of Yazid, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the prayer of a person sitting, and he replied...

سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الرَّجُلِ وَهُوَ قَاعِدٌ فَقَالَ مَنْ صَلَّى قَائِمًا فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ وَمَنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَائِمِ وَمَنْ صَلَّى نَائِمًا فَلَهُ نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَاعِدِ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْوَارِثِ وَفِي حَدِيثِ إِسْحَاقَ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ الْقَاعِدِ وَالْبَاقِي مِثْلُهُ وَفِي حَدِيثِ يَزِيدَ سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ

"صَلَّ قَائِمًا فَهُوَ أَفْضَلُ، وَمَنْ صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَلَه نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَائِمِ، وَمَنْ صَلَّى نَائِمًا فَلَه نِصْفُ أَجْرِ الْقَاعِدِ".
