Yahya related to me from Malik from Zayd ibn Aslam from Ata ibn Yasar and from Busr ibn Said and from al-Araj-all of whom related it from Abu Hurayra - that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever manages to do a raka of subh before the sun has risen has done subh in time, and whoever manages to do a raka of asr before the sun has set has done asr in time."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الْعَصْرِ رَكْعَةً قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الْفَجْرِ رَكْعَةً قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ
Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever could get one rakʿa (of the Fajr prayer) before sunrise, he has got the (morning) prayer and whoever could get one rakʿa of the ʿAsr prayer before sunset, he has got the (ʿAsr) prayer." (Using translation from Bukhārī 579)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكْعَةً مِنَ الصُّبْحِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الصُّبْحَ وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكْعَةً مِنَ الْعَصْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الْعَصْرَ
"مَنْ أَدْرَكَ سَجْدَةً مِنَ الصُّبْحِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَها، وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ سَجْدَةً مِنَ العَصْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْس فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَها".
"مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكعَةً مِنَ الصُّبْحِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الصُّبْحَ، وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكْعَةً مِنَ الْعَصْرِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ، فَقَدُ أَدْرَكَ الْعَصْرَ".
"مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكعَتَين مِنْ صَلاةِ الْعَصْر قَبْلَ أَن تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ أَوْ رَكَعَةً مِنْ صَلاةِ الصُّبْحِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ".
"عَنِ ابْن عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: مَنْ أَدْرَكَ منَ الصُّبْحَ رَكْعَةً قَبْلَ طُلُوع الشَّمْسِ فَقَدْ أدْرَكَهَا، وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ العَصْرِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ غُرُوب الشَّمْسِ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا، وَعَنْ أبِى هُرَيْرَةَ مِثْلهُ".
