that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When Allah created Adam He wiped his back and every person that He created among his offspring until the Day of Resurrection fell out of his back. He placed a ray of light between the eyes of every person. Then He showed them to Adam and he said: 'O Lord! Who are these people?' He said: 'These are your offspring.' He saw one of them whose ray between his eyes amazed him, so he said: 'O Lord! Who is this?' He said: 'This is a man from the latter nations of your offspring called Dawud.' He said: 'Lord! How long did You make his lifespan?' He said: 'Sixty years.' He said: 'O Lord! Add forty years from my life to his.' So at the end of Adam's life, the Angel of death of came to him, and he said: 'Do I not have forty years remaining?' He said: 'Did you not give them to your son Dawud?'" He said: "Adam denied, so his offspring denied, and Adam forgot and his offspring forgot, and Adam sinned, so his offspring sinned."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ آدَمَ مَسَحَ ظَهْرَهُ فَسَقَطَ مِنْ ظَهْرِهِ كُلُّ نَسَمَةٍ هُوَ خَالِقُهَا مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَ عَيْنَىْ كُلِّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْهُمْ وَبِيصًا مِنْ نُورٍ ثُمَّ عَرَضَهُمْ عَلَى آدَمَ فَقَالَ أَىْ رَبِّ مَنْ هَؤُلاَءِ قَالَ هَؤُلاَءِ ذُرِّيَّتُكَ فَرَأَى رَجُلاً مِنْهُمْ فَأَعْجَبَهُ وَبِيصُ مَا بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ فَقَالَ أَىْ رَبِّ مَنْ هَذَا فَقَالَ هَذَا رَجُلٌ مِنْ آخِرِ الأُمَمِ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِكَ يُقَالُ لَهُ دَاوُدُ فَقَالَ رَبِّ كَمْ جَعَلْتَ عُمْرَهُ قَالَ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً قَالَ أَىْ رَبِّ زِدْهُ مِنْ عُمْرِي أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً فَلَمَّا انْقَضَى عُمْرُ آدَمَ جَاءَهُ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ فَقَالَ أَوَلَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْ عُمْرِي أَرْبَعُونَ سَنَةً قَالَ أَوَلَمْ تُعْطِهَا ابْنَكَ دَاوُدَ قَالَ فَجَحَدَ آدَمُ فَجَحَدَتْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُ وَنَسِيَ آدَمُ فَنَسِيَتْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُ وَخَطِئَ آدَمُ فَخَطِئَتْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, the first person to deny Adam ﷺ was the first person to deny the existence of Adam. Indeed, when Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, created Adam, He wiped his back and brought forth from it all his descendants until the Day of Resurrection. Then He presented Adam's offspring to him, and he saw among them a man shining brightly. Adam said, 'O Lord, who is this?' Allah said, 'This is your son, Dawood.' Adam said, 'O Lord, how old is he?' Allah said, 'He is sixty years old.' Adam said, 'O Lord, increase his age.' Allah said, 'No, except that I will increase it from your age.' And the age of Adam was one thousand years, so Allah increased Dawood's age by forty years. Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, recorded this in a Book and the angels bore witness to it. When Adam was close to dying and the angels came to take his soul, he said, 'Indeed, I have forty years left of my life.' It was said to him, 'You have gifted them to your son Dawood.' Adam said, 'I did not do that.' So Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, brought forth the Book as evidence and the angels bore witness to it."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَنْ جَحَدَ آدَمُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ أَوْ أَوَّلُ مَنْ جَحَدَ آدَمُ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَمَّا خَلَقَ آدَمَ مَسَحَ ظَهْرَهُ فَأَخْرَجَ مِنْهُ مَا هُوَ مِنْ ذَرَارِيَّ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ فَجَعَلَ يَعْرِضُ ذُرِّيَّتَهُ عَلَيْهِ فَرَأَى فِيهِمْ رَجُلًا يَزْهَرُ فَقَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالَ هَذَا ابْنُكَ دَاوُدُ قَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ كَمْ عُمْرُهُ؟ قَالَ سِتُّونَ عَامًا قَالَ رَبِّ زِدْ فِي عُمْرِهِ قَالَ لَا إِلا أَنْ أَزِيدَهُ مِنْ عُمْرِكَ وَكَانَ عُمْرُ آدَمَ أَلْفَ عَامٍ فَزَادَهُ أَرْبَعِينَ عَامًا فَكَتَبَ اللهُ ﷻ عَلَيْهِ بِذَلِكَ كِتَابًا وَأَشْهَدَ عَلَيْهِ الْمَلائِكَةَ فَلَمَّا احْتُضِرَ آدَمُ وَأَتَتْهُ الْمَلائِكَةُ لِتَقْبِضَهُ قَالَ إِنَّهُ قَدْ بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمُرِي أَرْبَعُونَ عَامًا فَقِيلَ إِنَّكَ قَدْ وَهَبْتَهَا لِابْنِكَ دَاوُدَ قَالَ مَا فَعَلْتُ وَأَبْرَزَ اللهُ ﷻ عَلَيْهِ الْكِتَابَ وَشَهِدَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْمَلائِكَةُ

“When Allah created Adam, He breathed the soul into him, then he sneezed and said: ‘All praise is due to Allah.’ So he praised Allah by His permission. Then His Lord said to him: ‘May Allah have mercy upon you O Adam. Go to those angels – to that gathering of them sitting – so say: 'As-Salamu alaikum.' They said 'Wa Alaikas-Salamu Wa Rahmatullah’. Then he returned to his Lord, He said: ‘This is your greeting and the greeting of your children among each other.’ Then Allah said to him – while His Two Hands were closed – ‘Choose which of them you wish.’ He said: ‘I chose the right My Lord and both of the Hands of my Lord are right, blessed.’ Then He extended it, and there was Adam and his offspring in it.’ So he said: ‘What are these O my Lord?’ He said: ‘These are your offspring?’ Each one of them had his age written between his eyes. But among them there was a man who was the most illuminating of them – or among the most illuminated of them. He said: ‘O Lord! Who is this?’ He said: ‘This is your son Dawud, I wrote forty years for him.’ He said: ‘O Lord! Add to his age.’ He said: ‘That is what I have written for him.’ He said: ‘O Lord! Give him sixty of my years.’ He said: ‘So you shall have it.’” He said: “Then, he resided in Paradise as long as Allah willed, then he was cast from it, so Adam was counting for himself.” He said: “So the Angel of death came to him, and Adam said to him: ‘You are hasty, one-thousand years were written for me.’ He said: ‘Of course! But you gave sixty years to your son Dawud.’ So he rejected, and his offspring rejected, and he forgot, and his offspring forgot.” He said: “So ever since that day, what is written and witnessed has been decreed.” (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3367)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَمَّا خَلَقَ اللَّهُ آدَمَ وَنَفَخَ فِيهِ الرُّوحَ عَطَسَ فَقَالَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ فَحَمِدَ اللَّهَ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَبُّهُ رَحِمَكَ اللَّهُ رَبُّكَ يَا آدَمُ وَقَالَ لَهُ يَا آدَمُ اذْهَبْ إِلَى أُولَئِكَ الْمَلَائِكَةِ إِلَى مَلَأٍ مِنْهُمْ جُلُوسٍ فَقُلِ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَذَهَبَ فَقَالُوا وَعَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ فَقَالَ هَذِهِ تَحِيَّتُكَ وَتَحِيَّةُ بَنِيكَ وَبَنِيهِمْ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ لَهُ وَيَدَاهُ مَقْبُوضَتَانِ اخْتَرْ أَيَّهُمَا شِئْتَ فَقَالَ اخْتَرْتُ يَمِينَ رَبِّي وَكِلْتَا يَدَيْ رَبِّي يَمِينٌ مُبَارَكَةٌ ثُمَّ بَسَطَهَا فَإِذَا فِيهَا آدَمُ وَذُرِّيَّتُهُ فَقَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ مَا هَؤُلَاءِ؟ قَالَ ذُرِّيَّتُكَ فَإِذَا كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ مَكْتُوبٌ عُمْرُهُ بَيْنَ عَيْنَيْهِ وَإِذَا فِيهِمْ رَجُلٌ أَضْوَؤُهُمْ أَوْ قَالَ مِنْ أَضْوَئِهِمْ لَمْ يُكْتَبْ لَهُ إِلَّا أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً قَالَ يَا رَبِّ زِدْ فِي عُمْرِهِ قَالَ ذَاكَ الَّذِي كُتِبَ لَهُ قَالَ فَإِنِّي قَدْ جَعَلْتُ لَهُ مِنْ عُمْرِي سِتِّينَ سَنَةً قَالَ أَنْتَ وَذَاكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ أُسْكِنَ الْجَنَّةَ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ثُمَّ أُهْبِطَ مِنْهَا آدَمُ يَعُدُّ لِنَفْسِهِ فَأَتَاهُ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ فَقَالَ لَهُ آدَمُ قَدْ عَجِلْتَ قَدْ كُتِبَ لِي أَلْفُ سَنَةٍ قَالَ بَلَى وَلَكِنَّكَ جَعَلْتَ لِابْنِكَ دَاوُدَ مِنْهَا سِتِّينَ سَنَةً فَجَحَدَ فَجَحَدَتْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُ وَنَسِيَ فَنَسِيَتْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُ فَيَوْمَئِذٍ أُمْرِنَا بِالْكِتَابِ وَالشُّهُودِ «»

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ لما خلق الله آدم مسح ظهره فسقط من ظهره كل نسمة هو خالقها إلى يوم القيامة ثُمَّ جعل عُمُر لكل إنسان منهم فقال آدم من هؤلاء؟ أَحسَبُهُ قال بنوك قال وإذا رجل منهم له نور بين عينيه فقال آدم من هذا؟ قال هذا رجل من ذريتك فى آخر الأمم يقال له داود قال وكم جعلت عمره؟ قال ستون سنة قال فزده من عمري أربعين سنة فلما قضى الله عُمر آدم جاءه ملك الموت فقال قد بقي من عمري أربعون سنة قال أولم تعطها ابنك داود؟ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ فجحد آدم فجحدت ذريته ونسى فنسيت ذريته وخطىء فخطئت ذريته

He said, 'I have not done that; I have not given him anything.' So Allah revealed the book and the angels testified to it. So Allah completed for Adam one thousand years and completed for Dawud one hundred years."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِنَّ أَوَّلَ مَنْ جَحَدَ آدَمُ إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ لَمَّا خَلَقَهُ مَسَحَ ظَهْرَهُ فَأَخْرَجَ ذُرِّيَّتَهُ وَكُلَّ مَا هُوَ ذَارِئٍ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ فَجَعَلَ يَعْرِضُهُمْ عَلَيْهِ فَرَأَى فِيهِمْ رَجُلًا أَزْهَرَ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ أَيُّ بَنِيَّ هَذَا؟ قَالَ هَذَا ابْنُكَ دَاوُدُ قَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ كَمْ عُمْرُهُ؟ قَالَ سِتُّونَ سَنَةً قَالَ أَيْ رَبِّ زِدْ فِي عُمْرِهِ قَالَ لَا إِلَّا أَنْ تَزِيدَهُ مِنْ عُمْرِكَ وَكَانَ آدَمُ عُمْرُهُ أَلْفَ عَامٍ فَوَهَبَ مِنْ عُمْرِهِ أَرْبَعِينَ عَامًا قَالَ فَكَتَبَ عَلَيْهِ بِذَلِكَ كِتَابًا وَأَشْهَدَ عَلَيْهِ الْمَلَائِكَةَ فَلَمَّا احْتُضِرَ آدَمُ أَتَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ لِتَقْبِضَهُ قَالَ إِنَّهُ قَدْ بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمْرِي أَرْبَعُونَ سَنَةً فَقَالَ إِنَّكَ قَدْ وَهَبْتَهَا لِابْنِكَ دَاوُدَ فَقَالَ مَا فَعَلْتُ مَا وَهَبْتُ لَهُ شَيْئًا فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ الْكِتَابَ وَشَهِدَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ فَكَمَّلُ اللهُ لِآدَمَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ وَأَكْمَلَ لِدَاوُدَ مِائَةَ عَامٍ
