"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ awoke in the morning and called for Bilal, then said: 'O Bilal! By what have you preceded me to Paradise? I have not entered Paradise at all, except that I heard your footsteps before me. I entered Paradise last night, and I heard your footsteps before me, and I came upon a square palace having balconies made of gold. So I said: 'Whose palace is this?' They said: 'A man among the Arabs.' So I said: 'I am an Arab, whose palace is this?' They said: 'A man among the Quraish.' So I said: 'I am from the Quraish, whose palace is this?' They said: 'A man from the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ.' So I said: 'I am Muhammad, whose palace is this?' They said: ''Umar bin Al-Khattab's.' So Bilal said: 'O Messenger of Allah! I have never called the Adhan except that I prayed two Rak'ah, and I never committed Hadath except that I performed Wudu upon that, and I considered that I owed Allah two Rak'ah.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'For those two.'" (Using translation from Tirmidhī 3689)

دَعَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِلَالًا فَقَالَ يَا بِلَالُ بِمَ سَبَقْتَنِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ إِنِّي دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ الْبَارِحَةَ فَسَمِعْتُ خَشْخَشَتَكَ أَمَامِي فَأَتَيْتُ عَلَى قَصْرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ مُرَبَّعٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ قُلْتُ فَأَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُو لِرَجُلٍ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ قُلْتُ أَنَا عَرَبِيٌّ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ قُلْتُ فَأَنَا قُرَشِيٌّ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا لَعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَقَالَ بِلَالٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَذَّنْتُ قَطُّ إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَمَا أَصَابَنِي حَدَثٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا تَوَضَّأْتُ عِنْدَهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِهَذَا

[AI] "One day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up and called Bilal. He said, 'O Bilal, what deeds have you done that have caused you to surpass me in entering Paradise? Yesterday, I entered Paradise and heard the sound of your footsteps ahead of me.' Bilal replied, 'O Messenger of Allah, I have never called the Adhan (call to prayer) without praying two Rak'ahs (units of prayer), and I have never experienced any impurity without performing ablution.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Because of this.'"

أَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا فَدَعَا بِلَالًا فَقَالَ «يَا بِلَالُ بِمَ سَبَقْتَنِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ؟ إِنِّي دَخَلْتُ الْبَارِحَةَ الْجَنَّةَ فَسَمِعْتُ خَشْخَشَتَكَ أَمَامِي» فَقَالَ بِلَالٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَذَّنْتُ قَطُّ إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَمَا أَصَابَنِي حَدَثٌ قَطُّ إِلَّا تَوَضَّأْتُ عِنْدَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «بِهَذَا»

[AI] One day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ woke up and called Bilal. He said, "O Bilal, how did you surpass me to Paradise last night? I heard the rustling of your footsteps in front of me, so I followed it until I reached a square-golden palace surrounded by a balcony. I asked, 'Whose palace is this?' They replied, 'It belongs to a man from the Quraysh.' I asked, 'Am I from the Quraysh?' They said, 'No, it belongs to Umar ibn Al-Khattab.' Then Bilal said, 'O Messenger of Allah, whenever I hear the call to prayer, I never fail to perform two Rak'ahs (units of prayer). And whenever any impurity comes upon me, I always perform ablution.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'By following this practice, you have fulfilled the conditions of both Bukhari and Muslim.'"

أَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَوْمًا فَدَعَا بِلَالًا فَقَالَ يَا بِلَالُ بِمَ سَبَقْتَنِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ الْبَارِحَةَ فَسَمِعْتُ خَشْخَشَتَكَ أَمَامِي فَأَتَيْتُ عَلَى قَصْرٍ مِنْ ذَهَبٍ مُرَبَّعٍ مُشْرِفٍ فَقُلْتُ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ فَقَالُوا لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ فَقُلْتُ أَنَا قُرَشِيٌّ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟ قَالُوا لِعُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ فَقَالَ بِلَالٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَذَّنْتُ قَطُّ إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَمَا أَصَابَنِي حَدَثٌ إِلَّا تَوَضَّأْتُ عِنْدَهَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «بِهَذَا» صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ على شرط البخاري ومسلم

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , heard a rustling sound in front of him, so he asked, "Who is this?" They replied, "It is Bilal." So he informed him and asked, "By what means did you surpass me to Paradise?" Bilal replied, "O Messenger of Allah, I have not done anything except that whenever I performed ablution, I offered two units of prayer. I did not perform ablution except that I saw it as an opportunity to pray these two units for Allah." The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "Because of them [i.e., the two units of prayer]."

أَنّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ سَمِعَ خَشْخَشَةً أَمَامَهُ فَقَالَ مَنْ هَذَا قَالُوا بِلالٌ فَأَخْبَرَهُ وَقَالَ بِمَ سَبَقْتَنِي إِِلَى الْجَنَّةِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَحْدَثْتُ إِِلا تَوَضَّأْتُ وَلاَ تَوَضَّأْتُ إِِلا رَأَيْتُ أَنَّ لِلَّهِ عَلَيَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ أُصَلِّيهُمَا قَالَ ﷺ «بِهَا»

قَالَ قَالَ رَسُول اللهِ ﷺ سَمِعْتُ خَشَفَةً أَمَامِي فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا قِيلَ بِلالٌ قُلْتُ فَبِمَ سَبَقْتَنِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ قَالَ مَا أَحْدَثْتُ إلاَّ تَوَضَّأْتُ ولاَ تَوَضَّأْتُ إلاَّ رَأَيْتُ لِلَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى عَلَيَّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَالَ فبها

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "I heard something in front of me when I entered Paradise, so I asked, 'Who is this?' They said, 'It is Bilal.' So, I went to him and asked, 'How did you surpass me in entering Paradise?' He replied, 'O Messenger of Allah, I never did anything, day or night, except that I performed ablution (wudu) after it, and I never performed ablution except that I prayed two units (rak'at) of prayer after it.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ خَشْفَةً أَمَامِي حِينَ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ فَقُلْتُ مَنْ هَذَا؟ قَالُوا بِلَالٌ فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ «بِمَ تَسْبِقُنِي إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ؟» فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ مَا أَحْدَثْتُ إِلَّا تَوَضَّأْتُ وَلَا تَوَضَّأْتُ إِلَّا صَلَّيْتُ عَلَى أَثَرِ الْوُضُوءِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ

"إِن رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ خَشْخَشَةً أَمَامِى، فَقُلْتُ: مَنْ هذَا؟ قَالُوا: بِلاَلٌ، قَالَ: بِمَ سَبَقْتَنِى إِلى الْجَنَّةِ؟ قَالَ: يَارَسُولَ اللهِ! مَا أَحْدَثْتُ إِلاَّ تَوَضَّأتُ، وَلاَ تَوَضَّأتُ إِلاَّ رَأَيْتُ أَنَّ للهِ عَلَىَّ رَكعَتَيْنِ أُصَلِّيهِمَا، قَالَ: بِهَا".
