"Shall I not show you how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed?" So he prayed, and he only raised his hands once. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1058)

Abdullah ibn Mas'ud said: Should I not pray for you the way the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed? So he prayed, raising his hands only once. Abu Dawud said: This is a summarized version of a longer narration and it is not authentic with this wording.  

أبو داود:٧٤٨ – حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ يَعْنِي ابْنَ كُلَيْبٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ قَالَ

عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ أَلاَ أُصَلِّي بِكُمْ صَلاَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَصَلَّى فَلَمْ يَرْفَعْ يَدَيْهِ إِلاَّ مَرَّةً  

قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ هَذَا مُخْتَصَرٌ مِنْ حَدِيثٍ طَوِيلٍ وَلَيْسَ هُوَ بِصَحِيحٍ عَلَى هَذَا اللَّفْظِ

Raising of the hands (rafʿ al-yadayn رفع اليدين) only once at the beginning of the Ṣalāh

tirmidhi:257 – Hannād > Wakīʿ > Sufyān > ʿĀṣim b. Kulayb > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. al-Aswad > ʿAlqamah

ʿAbdullāh b. Masʿūd said: "Shall I not demonstrate the Ṣalāh of Messenger ﷺ of Allah to you?" Then he offered the Ṣalāh and he did not raise his hands except while saying the first takbīr."  

And in the narration from al-Barāʾ b ʿAzib, Abu ʿĪsá said that the hadith of Ibn Masʿūd is a Ḥasan, and with it, several knowledgeable individuals among the companions of the Prophet ﷺ and the followers concur. This is the statement of Sufyān al-Thawrī and the people of Kūfah.

ahmad:3681 – Wakīʿ > Sufyān > ʿĀṣim b. Kulayb > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. al-Aswad > ʿAlqamah

ابْنُ مَسْعُودٍ أَلَا أُصَلِّي لَكُمْ صَلَاةَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ فَصَلَّى فَلَمْ يَرْفَعْ يَدَيْهِ إِلَّا مَرَّةً
