And indeed, a servant speaks a word, and does not pay attention to it wherever it reaches, so Allah writes His displeasure with it until the day he meets Him.' So look, O nephew of mine, at what you say and what you speak, for many words that I have heard from Bilal ibn al-Harith have prevented me."

[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik and Bakr ibn Sahl narrated from Abdullah ibn Yusuf that Malik narrated from Abu Yazid al-Qaratisi who narrated from Abdullah ibn Abi al-Hakam who narrated from Malik ibn Anas who narrated from Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Alqamah who narrated from his father that Bilal ibn al-Harith al-Muzani said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Verily, a person will speak a word that pleases Allah without realizing the extent of its reach, so Allah will record His pleasure for him until the day he meets Him. And verily, a person will speak a word that angers Allah without realizing the extent of its reach, so Allah will record His anger for him until the day he meets Him." Abu al-Qasim said, "Malik and Muhammad ibn Ajlan are dropped from the chain of narration due to the inclusion of Alqamah ibn Waqqas, the grandfather of Muhammad ibn Amr. Hammad ibn Salamah narrated it and his narration contradicts that of others."

[Machine] His grandfather said to him, "O Fulan, why do you enter among these people and make them laugh?" For I heard Bilal ibn Al-Harith Al-Muzani, the companion of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, narrating that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, a servant speaks a word that pleases Allah, thinking that it may not reach what it has reached, and Allah is pleased with it on his behalf until the day he meets Him. And indeed, a servant speaks a word that angers Allah, thinking that it may not reach what it has reached, and Allah is angered by it until the day he meets Him.

[Machine] Indeed, I have seen you entering among these princes and enveloping them, so see what you are explaining to them. For I heard the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , say: "Indeed, a man may speak a word of goodness without knowing its weight, and Allah writes his satisfaction with it until the day he meets Him. And indeed, a man may speak a word of evil without knowing its weight, and Allah writes His displeasure with him until the day he meets Him." So Alqamah used to say: "Many conversations have taken place between him and me that I have not heard from Bilal."

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Indeed, a person may speak a word that brings about the pleasure of Allah, thinking that it will not reach the level of what it actually attains, but Allah will write His pleasure for him with that word until the day he meets Him. And indeed, a person may speak a word that brings about the anger of Allah, thinking that it will not reach the level of what it actually attains, but Allah will write His anger upon him with that word until the Day of Resurrection." Alqamah said, "How many words have been prohibited for me due to the hadith of Bilal bin Al-Harith!"
