3. Book of Purification (5/12)
"1 saw the Prophet rinse his mouth and sniff water in his nose using one hand, he did that thrice," (Using translation from Tirmidhī 28)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When you perform Wudu', do so properly, and wash in between the fingers (Al-Asabi')."[2] [1] Al-Asabi' is plural meaning fingers as well as toes, and the author mentioned only one narration on the topic whereas some of them clarify "of the hands and feet." So he mentioned the general wording amids chapters how to wash the feet. [2] Part of this narration preceded under No. 87. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 114)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When you perform ablution, interlace your fingers and toes." "This narration is credited to Salih. I assume he is among the freed slaves of At-Taw'amah. If so, this is not a condition of this book, and I have only mentioned it as a supporting evidence."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to visit the houses of a certain group of the Ansar (Helpers), while ignoring others. This bothered them, so they said, "O Messenger of Allah, you visit the house of so-and-so but not our house." The Prophet ﷺ responded, "There is a dog in your house." They replied, "But there is a lamp in their house." The Prophet ﷺ then said, "The lamb has seven tails."
[Machine] We were with Salman al-Farsi on a journey, and he fulfilled his needs. So we said to him, "Perform ablution so that we may ask you about a verse from the Quran." He said, "Ask me, for I did not lose it." Then he recited to us what we desired, and there was no water between us and him.
[Machine] Regarding Salman, he mentioned him in a similar manner.
the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Most of the torment of the grave is because of ˹carelessness with˺ urine."
[Machine] Ibn Abbas reported that he raised it to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "The majority of the punishment in the grave is due to urine."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If any of you makes a mistake in his prayer, let him rub his nose and then continue." This was followed by Umar ibn Ali al-Muqaddami and Muhammad ibn Bishr al-Abdi and others from Hisham ibn Uruwah, "And it is authentic according to their conditions, and they did not exclude it." According to their conditions.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "If anyone of you sneezes during prayer, he should cover his nose and leave the prayer to perform ablution." I heard Ali ibn Umar Ad-Dar Qutni Al-Hafiz saying, "I heard Abu Bakr Ash-Shafi'i As-Sairafi saying, 'Whoever issues a fatwa (religious ruling) from the Imams of the Muslims regarding matters of tricks and deception, he has taken it from this hadith.'"
[Machine] I and Amr ibn Al-Aas set off, then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us holding a utensil or something similar to it in his hand, and he covered himself with it. He urinated while sitting. So I said to my companion, "Don't you see how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ urinates like a woman?" He came to us and said, "Do you not know what happened to the companion of the children of Israel? Whenever he was afflicted with something from urine, he would perform istinja' (cleaning the private parts with water after urination) with a clump of soil." He said, "So he was forbidden from doing that, and he was punished in his grave."
[Machine] "When the Prophet ﷺ needed to relieve himself while he was covered with a garment, they asked him, 'Do you urinate like women do?' The Prophet ﷺ replied, 'Indeed, the Bani Israel (Children of Israel) used to suffer from urinary ailments, so they would cauterize themselves with metal objects. Allah forbade them from doing so, and as a punishment, they would be tormented in their graves.'"
[Machine] She said, "What is wrong with the Messenger of Allah standing firm upon receiving the criterion" according to their condition.
[Machine] I heard Aisha swear by Allah that no one has seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ urinating while standing since the revelation of the Quran.
"The Messenger of Allah saw me urinating while standing, and he said: 'O 'Umar, do not urinate standing up.' So I never urinated whilst standing after that." (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 308)
"None of you should urinate in the place where he bathes, for most Waswas (devilish whispers) [1] come from that." [1] I.e., with regard to whether the urine has soiled his body or not. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 36)
[Machine] "To fulfill the condition of them being immersed in the bath."
The Prophet (sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam ) as saying : Be on your guard against two things which provoke cursing. They (the hearers) said : Prophet of Allaah ( sal Allaahu alayhi wa sallam), what are these things which provoke cursing: easing in the watering places and on the thoroughfares, and in the shade (of the tree)(where they take shelter and rest). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 25)
[Machine] "A man said to Abu Hurairah, 'You have given us fatwas regarding everything, to the point that you are about to give us a fatwa about excrement.' Abu Hurairah said, 'I have heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying, "Whoever releases his anger on a pathway frequented by the Muslims, upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people."' Muhammad ibn Amr al-Ansari is among those whose narrations are commonly accepted among the people of Basrah, and he is highly esteemed in his narrations."
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "No one of you should urinate in a hole." according to their condition.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "None of you should urinate in burrows." Qatadah also said, "Indeed, these are the dwellings of the jinn, and I do not deny the statement that they are the dwellings of the jinn because this is from the saying of Qatadah."
[Machine] The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, "Verily, these toilets are inhabited by jinns. So, when any one of you enters the toilet, let him say: 'I seek refuge with Allah from impure male and female jinns.'" A Muslim presented a narration by Qatadah from Anas bin Malik from Zaid bin Arqam, and Al-Bukhari presented a narration by 'Amr bin Marzuq. This hadith is disputed by Qatadah, Sa'id bin Abi 'Arubah, and Qasim bin 'Awf Al-Shaybani from Zaid bin Arqam. Both of these meaning this hadith are in accordance with the condition of being authentic.
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Verily, these bushes are inhabited by deadly creatures. So, when any one of you enters it, let him say, 'I seek refuge in Allah from the filth and evil spirits.'"
Neither of these two chains of narration fulfill the condition of authenticity, and they did not exclude it from this wording. They only agreed upon the hadeeth of 'Abdul-Azeez ibn Suhayb from Anas, mentioning seeking refuge [with Allah] exclusively."
When the Prophet entered the toilet, he would take off his ring. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 303)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wear a ring with the inscription "Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah" and whenever he entered the bathroom, he would remove it.
[Machine] When this verse was revealed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a messenger to Uwaim bin Sa'ida and said, "What is this purification that Allah has praised you for?" They replied, "O Prophet of Allah, no man or woman among us goes to defecate except that they wash their backsides or, instead, they wash their sitting areas." So the Prophet ﷺ said, "This (cleanliness) applies to this (situation)."
[Machine] They said, "O Messenger of Allah, who are these people [in whom there are men who love to purify themselves and Allah loves those who purify themselves]?" He said, "They are the ones who perform istinja' (cleansing after using the bathroom) with water and they do not sleep throughout the night." This is the last information that reached us from the Book of Purification according to the conditions of the two sheikhs, unless they have omitted it.
3.18 [Machine] The first book of prayer
3.19 [Machine] In prayer times
[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Which action is the best?" He said, "Praying at the beginning of its prescribed time." I asked, "Then which action?" He said, "Jihad in the cause of Allah." I asked, "Then which action?" He said, "Being dutiful to one's parents."
[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ which action is best? He said, "Prayer at its proper time." This statement has been confirmed by trustworthy narrators Bundar ibn Bashar and Al-Hasan ibn Mukram, who reported it from Uthman ibn Umar. It is considered authentic according to the conditions of the two esteemed scholars, and they did not exclude it. There are also supporting evidences regarding this matter.
[Machine] I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , "Which actions are the best?" He said, "Praying in its earliest time." I asked, "Then what?" He said, "Striving in the cause of Allah." I asked, "Then what?" He said, "Showing kindness and obedience to parents, even if they are unjust towards me." "This hadith has been narrated by a group from Shu'bah, but this wording is not mentioned except by Hujaj bin Al-Sha'ir from Ali bin Hafs and Hujaj is a trustworthy preserver. Muslim relied on Ali bin Hafs Al-Madaini in his argument."
[Machine] From a man of the companions of the Prophet ﷺ who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which action is best?" He replied, "Offering prayers at its appointed time." The man was Abdullah ibn Mas'ud according to the consensus of the narrators on the authority of Abu Amr Ash-Shaybani.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The best of deeds is praying in its appointed time." "Yaqoob ibn al-Walid is an elder from the people of Madinah who resides in Baghdad and is not a condition of this book, except that he is a witness for Ubaidullah." Yaqoob is a liar, meaning Yaqoob ibn al-Walid.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked, "Which action is the best?" He replied, "Offering the prayer at its earliest time."
[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , I heard Abu Al-Abbas Muhammad ibn Ya'qub saying: I heard Al-Abbas ibn Muhammad Ad-Duri saying, I heard Yahya ibn Ma'in saying: Abdullah ibn Umar narrated from Al-Qasim ibn Ghannam but his brother Ubaidullah ibn Umar did not narrate from him.
"Messenger of Allah did not pray any Salat at the end of its time two times, until Allah took him." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 174)
[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not pray the prayer at its final time twice until Allah took him. And he has another witness from the Hadith of Al-Waqidi, and it is not a condition of this book."
[Machine] "I have never seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ delay a prayer until its last time, until Allah took him (in death)."
[Machine] "People think that you have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ doing such things. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "My Ummah will always be on the right path as long as they do not delay Maghrib prayer until the stars start to appear.""
[Machine] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "The matter of my Ummah will remain upon the Fitrah (natural disposition) as long as they do not delay the Maghrib prayer until the stars appear."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There are two transformations of dawn: a dawn in which food is forbidden and prayer becomes permissible, and a dawn in which prayer is forbidden and food becomes permissible."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: There are two types of dawn. As for the dawn that appears like the tail of a wolf, prayer is not permissible at that time but eating is permissible. However, as for the dawn that spreads horizontally in the sky, prayer is permissible and eating is not permissible.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I not guide you to what Allah wipes away sins with and increases in good deeds?" They said, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Performing ablution more than is required, even in disliked situations, and staying in place after prayer until the next prayer. None among you leaves his house to perform prayer with the Imam and then sits waiting for the next prayer, except that the angels say, 'O Allah, forgive him, O Allah, have mercy on him.'"
[Machine] We were sitting with Ali in the Great Mosque, and it was a special occasion in Al-Kufa that day. The Muadhin came to him and said, "O Amir al-Mu'minin, it is time for Asr prayer." Ali replied, "Sit down." So he sat down, then the Muadhin came again and said the same thing. Ali said, "This dog teaches us about the Sunnah." So Ali stood up and led us in performing the Asr prayer. After we finished, we returned to the place where we were sitting, and we prostrated on our knees, observing the setting sun until we could no longer see it.
[Machine] "We used to pray Asr with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , then we would slaughter the animals, divide them into ten portions, cook them, and eat the cooked meat before the sun sets." Both Bukhari and Muslim agreed upon narrating the hadith of Al-Awza'i from Abu Al-Najashi from Rafi' ibn Khadeej, who said, "We used to pray Maghrib with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , then we would leave, and one of us would mark the places of his arrows, and he had two valid witnesses regarding expediting the prayer, but they did not testify." The first witness among them is
[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ, that he used to pray Asr when the sun is high and bright, then the man walks until he moves away from it towards Dhul-Hulayfah, which is six miles before the sunset. They both agreed upon the narration of Bashir ibn Abu Mas'ud in the last narration of Az-Zuhri from Urwah, with a different wording. As for the second witness...
[Machine] "Or did the prophet Gabriel ﷺ come to the Prophet ﷺ twice at the house, so he prayed the noon prayer when the sun had declined and it was the length of a sandal strap, then he prayed the afternoon prayer when the shadow of everything was in proportion to it, then he prayed the sunset prayer when the fasting person broke their fast, then he prayed the night prayer when the twilight disappeared, then he prayed the dawn prayer when eating and drinking became prohibited for the one fasting, then he prayed the noon prayer the next day when the shadow of everything was in proportion to it, like the time of the afternoon prayer the previous day, then he prayed the afternoon prayer when the shadow of everything was equal to it, then he prayed the sunset prayer when the fasting person broke their fast, then he prayed the night prayer for one-third of the first part of the night, then he prayed the dawn prayer when it became light, then he said, 'O Muhammad, this is the time of the prophets before you, and the time between these two times.' As for the statement of Abdul Aziz ibn Muhammad..."
The above mentioned tradition has also been transmitted in a similar manner by Ibn 'Abbas from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1491)
[Machine] The Prophet peace be upon him was asked about the timing of prayers, so he advanced and postponed and said, "There is a time between them."
