The Prophet ﷺ said, "He who slaps the cheeks, tears the clothes and follows the traditions of the Days of Ignorance is not from us."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَطَمَ الْخُدُودَ وَشَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ وَدَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ ضَرَبَ الْخُدُودَ وَشَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ وَدَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'He is not one of us who strikes his cheeks, rends his garment, calls out the calls of the Jahiliyyah."'
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ ضَرَبَ الْخُدُودَ وَشَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ وَدَعَا بِدُعَاءِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَاللَّفْظُ لِعَلِيٍّ وَقَالَ الْحَسَنُ بِدَعْوَى

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَطَمَ الْخُدُودَ وَشَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ وَدَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لفْظُهُمَا سَوَاءٌ
"لَيسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَطَمَ الْخُدُودَ، وَشَقَّ الْجُيُوبَ، وَدَعَا بِدَعْوَى الْجَاهِلِيةِ".
