" Say: O unbelievers," (Qur'an, cix.) and" Say: Allah is one" (cxii.).

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَرَأَ فِي رَكْعَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ} وَ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ}

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited: "Say: O you disbelievers" and "Say: He is Allah, (the) One" in the two rak'ahs of Fajr.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَرَأَ فِي رَكْعَتَىِ الْفَجْرِ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ }

"I watched the Messenger of Allah ﷺ- twenty times- reciting in the two rak'ahs after maghrib 'Say: O you disbelievers' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"

رَمَقْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ عِشْرِينَ مَرَّةً يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَفِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ }

Ubayy bin Ka'b said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the salam, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِ { سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى } وَ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ } فَإِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ

Ubayy bin Ka'b said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُوتِرُ بِ { سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى } وَ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ } خَالَفَهُمَا حُصَيْنٌ فَرَوَاهُ عَنْ ذَرٍّ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِ { سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى } وَ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ }

"Shu'bah narrated to us, from Salamah and Zubaid, from Dharr, from Ibn Abdur-Rahman bin Abza from his father that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the taslim, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, raising his voice the third time."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِ { سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى } وَ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ } وَكَانَ يَقُولُ إِذَا سَلَّمَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلاَثًا وَيَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ بِالثَّالِثَةِ

"Shu'bah narrated to us, he said: Salamah and Zubaid informed me, from Dharr, from Ibn 'Abdur-Rahman bn Abza from Abdur-Rahman, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the taslim, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, raising his voice with Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus the third time."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوَتْرِ بِ { سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى } وَ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ } ثُمَّ يَقُولُ إِذَا سَلَّمَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ وَيَرْفَعُ بِ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ صَوْتَهُ بِالثَّالِثَةِ رَوَاهُ مَنْصُورٌ عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ كُهَيْلٍ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ ذَرًّا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the taslim, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times, elongating his words the third time."

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يُوتِرُ بِ { سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الأَعْلَى } وَ { قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ } وَ { قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ } وَكَانَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ وَفَرَغَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلاَثًا طَوَّلَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ وَرَوَاهُ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ ذَرًّا

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"

Ibn Abbas used to pray witr with three (units) with (the Surahs): "Glorify the Name of Your Lord, the Most High" (Surah Al-A'la), "Say: O You disbelievers" (Surah Al-Kafirun), and "Say: He is Allah, (the) One" (Surah Al-Ikhlas). (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1703)

“I watched the Prophet ﷺ for a month, and in the two Rak’ah before Fajr he used to recite: “Say: O you disbelievers!” [Al-Kafirun (109)] and “Say: Allah is One.” [Al- Ikhlas (112)] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1149)

رَمَقْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ شَهْرًا فَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ

[AI] "Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he used to perform the Tawraq prayer (an optional prayer performed after the obligatory night prayer) with recitation of Surah Al-Alaa' (The Most High) in it."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى

[AI] "Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ that he used to recite in the Witr prayer, 'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High,' 'Say: O disbelievers,' and 'Say: He is Allah, the One.' Then, after making the salutation, he would say, 'Glorified is the Sovereign, the Holy; glorified is the Sovereign, the Holy; glorified is the Sovereign, the Holy,' and he raised his voice with it."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ وَرَفَعَ بِهَا صَوْتَهُ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ وَكَانَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ يُطَوِّلُهَا ثَلَاثًا

"Abu Dawud narrated to us from Shu'bah, from Qatadah, who said: I heard 'Azarah narrating from Sa'eed bin 'Abdur-Rahman Ibn Abza, from his father That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he had finished praying, he said: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1740)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ يَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثًا

[AI] Zubayd and Salamah informed me that they heard from Ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Abzah, from his father, that the Prophet ﷺ used to perform the night prayer with the recitation of the Surah of "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High," and the Surahs of "O disbelievers" and "Say: He is Allah, the One." And when he finished the prayer, he would say, "Exalted is the King, the Holy One," three times, raising his voice in the last one.

زُبَيْدٌ وَسَلَمَةُ أَخْبَرَانِي أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا ذَرًّا عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ أَنَّ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ وَكَانَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثًا يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ بِالْآخِرَةِ

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ وَإِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْصَرِفَ مِنَ الْوِتْرِ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُ صَوْتَهُ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to perform the voluntary night prayer (Tahajjud) with the Tasbih (glorification) of the name of your Highest Lord.

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى

It was narrated from Nu’man bin Bashir that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite “Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,” [Al-A’la (87)] and “Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming?” [Al-Ghashiyah (88)] in the ‘Eid prayer. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1281)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْعِيدَيْنِ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ

It was narrated from Abu ‘Inabah Al-Khawlani that the Prophet ﷺ used to recite “Glorify the Name of your Lord the Most High” and “Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e., the Day of Resurrection)? [Al-A’la (87) and Al-Ghashiyah (88)] on Friday. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1120)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ ب سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet ﷺ used to recite in the ‘Eid prayer “Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High.” [Al-A’la (87)] and “Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming?” [Al-Ghashiyah (88)] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1283)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوَتْرِ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ

The Prophet ﷺ would recite in the two (supererogatory) rak'ahs of the dawn prayer: "Say, O unbelievers" [Surat al-Kafiroon:1] and "Say: He is Allah, the one" [Surat al-Ikhlas:1] (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1256)

أَسَرَّ تَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ الْقِرَاءَةَ فِي رَكْعَتَيِ الْفَجْرِ وَقَرَأَ فِيهِمَا قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ

“We asked ‘Aishah what the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Witr. She said: ‘He used to recite: “Glorify the Name of your Lord the Most High,” [Al-A’la (87)] in the first Rak’ah, ‘Say: “O disbelievers!’” [Al- Kafirun (109)] in the second Rak’ah, and ‘Say: Allah is One’ in the third and the Mu’awwidhatain (Chapter 113, 114).’” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1173)

سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ أُمَّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ يُوتِرُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَتْ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَفِي الثَّانِيَةَ بِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ بِ قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ وَالْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ

[AI] Regarding the reading in the two units before the Fajr prayer, she said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite them easier, and she mentioned saying 'O disbelievers' and saying 'He is Allah, the One'."

عَنِ الْقِرَاءَةِ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ صَلَاةِ الْفَجْرِ؟ فَقَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُسِرُّ الْقِرَاءَةَ فِيهِمَا وَذَكَرَتْ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the two Rak'ahs of Witr after them "Subhanallahi Walhamdulillahi Wa La Ilaha Illallah Wallahu Akbar" (Glorified is Allah, and praised is Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the Greatest), and recite in Witr "Qul Huwallahu Ahad" (Say, He is Allah, the One), and say "A'udhu bi Rabbil Falaq" (I seek refuge with the Lord of Daybreak), and say "A'udhu bi Rabbin Nas" (I seek refuge with the Lord of mankind). Sa'id bin Abi Maryam narrated it from Yahya bin Ayyub.

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ الَّتِي يُوتِرُ بَعْدَهُمَا بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَيَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ» تَابَعَهُ سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ

[AI] The translation is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the Witr prayer with three units. In the first unit, he would recite "Subhanak Allahumma wa bihamdika, tabarakasmuka, wa ta'ala jadduka, wa la ilaha ghairuka" (Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. Blessed is Your name and exalted is Your majesty. There is no deity worthy of worship except You). In the second unit, he would recite "Qul ya ayyuhal kafirun" (Say, O disbelievers). And in the third unit, he would recite "Qul huwa Allahu ahad" (Say, He is Allah, the One). Then he would seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak (Al-Falaq) and seek refuge in the Lord of mankind (An-Nas)."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِثَلَاثٍ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ used to recite in Witr prayer, in the first Rak'ah, "Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High." In the second Rak'ah, he would recite "Say: O disbelievers." In the third Rak'ah, he would recite "Say: He is Allah, the One" and "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak." Lastly, he would recite "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind."

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ

[AI] We asked Aisha, "What used to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ recite during the Witr prayer?" She replied, "In the first Rak'ah, he used to recite Surah Al-A'la (the Most High), in the second Rak'ah, Surah Al-Kafirun (the Disbelievers), and in the third Rak'ah, Surah Al-Ikhlas (the Unity) along with Surah Al-Falaq (the Dawn) and Surah An-Nas (Mankind)." Sa'id ibn Kathir ibn 'Ufair, who is a narrating authority among the people of Egypt, mentioned this Hadith and narration. I requested it at the time when I was writing a book about Witr prayer, but I did not find it. Later, I found it after Adh-Dhahabi stopped commenting on it in his summary.

سَأَلْنَا عَائِشَةَ بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الْوِتْرِ؟ فَقَالَتْ «كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكِ الْأَعْلَى وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ بِقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ بِقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَالْمُعَوِّذَتَيْنِ» قَدْ أَتَى إِمَامُ أَهْلِ مِصْرَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ وَالرِّوَايَةِ سَعِيدُ بْنُ كَثِيرِ بْنِ عُفَيْرٍ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَيُّوبَ طَلَبْتُهَا وَقْتَ إِمْلَائِي كِتَابَ الْوِتْرِ فَلَمْ أَجِدْهَا فَوَجَدْتُهَا بَعْدُ سكت عنه الذهبي في التلخيص

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform two units of prayer, followed by Witr prayer wherein he would recite after them "Exalt the name of your Lord, the Most High" and "Say: O disbelievers!" And in Witr prayer, he would recite "Say: He is Allah, the One" and "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak" and "Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind."

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ اللَّتَيْنِ يُوتِرُ بَعْدَهُمَا بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَيَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the two Rak'ahs of Witr after which he would say, 'Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High' and 'Say, O disbelievers' and in the Witr, he would recite 'Say: He is Allah, the One', and 'Say: I take refuge in the Lord of daybreak' and 'Say: I take refuge in the Lord of mankind'."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ اللَّتَيْنِ يُوتِرُ بَعْدَهَا سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَيَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ»

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform Witr and recite: ‘Glorify the Name of your Lord the Most High.’, [Al-A’la (87)] ‘Say: O you disbelievers!” [Al-Kafirun (109)] and ‘Say: Allah is One.”. [Al-Ikhlas (112)] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1171)

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ كَانَ يُوتِرُ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ»

"In the first rak'ah of witr, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite: "GLorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" in the second; "Say: O you disbelievers!" and in the third; "Say: He is Allah, (the) One." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1700)

«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَةِ الْأُولَى مِنَ الْوِتْرِ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَفِي الثَّانِيَةِ بِقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَفِي الثَّالِثَةِ بِقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ»

Ubayy bin Ka'b said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in Witr: "Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.' And when he said the salam, he would say: Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus (Glory be to the Sovereign, the Most Holy) three times." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1729)

«كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ فِي الْوِتْرِ بِسَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ فَإِذَا سَلَّمَ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ» ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ

“I watched the Prophet ﷺ for a month, and in the two Rak’ah before Fajr he used to recite: “Say: O you disbelievers!” [Al-Kafirun (109)] and “Say: Allah is One.” [Al- Ikhlas (112)] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1149)

«رَمَقْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ شَهْرًا فَكَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ بِقُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ»

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform two Rak’ah before Fajr, and he used to say: ‘The best two Surah to recite in the two Rak’ah of Fajr are: “Say: Allah is One” [Al-Ikhlas (112)] and “Say: O you disbelievers.” [Al-Kafirun (109)] (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1150)

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «نِعْمَ السُّورَتَانِ هُمَا تُقْرَآنِ فِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا الْكَافِرُونَ وَقُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ»

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the Friday prayer: "Glorify the name of your most high Lord" (Surah 87) and Has the story of the overwhelming event reached you? (Surah 88). (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1125)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ «كَانَ يَقْرَأُ فِي صَلَاةِ الْجُمُعَةِ بِ سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى وَهَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ»

It was narrated from Nu’man bin Bashir that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite “Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High,” [Al-A’la (87)] and “Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming?” [Al-Ghashiyah (88)] in the ‘Eid prayer. (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1281)
