The Prophet ﷺ fasted for days continuously; the people also did the same but it was difficult for them. So, the Prophet ﷺ forbade them (to fast continuously for more than one day). They slid, "But you fast without break (no food was taken in the evening or in the morning)." The Prophet ﷺ replied, "I am not like you, for I am provided with food and drink (by Allah).

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَاصَلَ فَوَاصَلَ النَّاسُ فَشَقَّ عَلَيْهِمْ فَنَهَاهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not practice Al-Wisal (fasting continuously without breaking one's fast in the evening or eating before the following dawn)." The people said to the Prophet, "But you practice Al- Wisal?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "I am not like any of you, for I am given food and drink (by Allah) during the night."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لاَ تُوَاصِلُوا قَالُوا إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ لَسْتُ كَأَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى أَوْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade Al-Wisal. The people said (to him), "But you practice it?" He said, "I am not like you, for I am given food and drink by Allah."

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْوِصَالِ قَالُوا إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade the wisal (continuous fasting) out of mercy for them. They said, “But you practice wisal.” He replied, “I am not like you; my Lord feeds me and gives me drink.”

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْوِصَالِ رَحْمَةً لَهُمْ، فَقَالُوا: إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ، قَالَ: «إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ، إِنِّي يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِ».

The Prophet ﷺ said twice, "(O you people) Be cautious! Do not practice Al-Wisal." The people said to him, "But you practice Al-Wisal?" The Prophet ﷺ replied, "My Lord gives me food and drink during my sleep. Do that much of deeds which is within your ability."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ مَرَّتَيْنِ قِيلَ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِ فَاكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ

You yourself fast uninterruptedly, whereupon he said: I am not like you. I am fed and supplied drink (by Allah).

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ قَالُوا إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

You yourself observe the fasts uninterruptedly (but you forbid us to do so) Upon this he said: I am not like you; I am fed and supplied drink (by Allah).

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَاصَلَ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَوَاصَلَ النَّاسُ فَنَهَاهُمْ قِيلَ لَهُ أَنْتَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

Abstain from Saum-Wisal. They (his Companions) said: Messenger of Allah, but you observe Saum Wisal. Upon this he said: You are not like me in this matter, for I spend my night (in a state) that my Lord feeds me and provides me drink Devote yourselves to the deeds (the burden of which) you can bear.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ فِي ذَلِكَ مِثْلِي إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي فَاكْلَفُوا مِنَ الأَعْمَالِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ

The Apostle of Allah ﷺ forbade them (his Companions) to observe Saum Wisal out of mercy for them. They said: You (Holy Prophet) yourself observe it. Upon this he said: I am not like you. My Lord feeds me and provides me drink.

نَهَاهُمُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَنِ الْوِصَالِ رَحْمَةً لَهُمْ فَقَالُوا إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ إِنِّي يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited perpetual fasting. They (the people) said: You keep perpetual fasting, Messenger of Allah. He said: My position is not like that you yours. I am provided with food and drink.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

the Messenger of Allah said: "Do not perform Wisal" They said: "But you perform Wisal O Messenger of Allah." He said: "I am not like you are, indeed my Lord feeds me and gives me to drink."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ تُوَاصِلُوا قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَعَائِشَةَ وَابْنِ عُمَرَ وَجَابِرٍ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ وَبَشِيرِ ابْنِ الْخَصَاصِيَةِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of excessive attachment (to worldly things)." They asked, "But you, O Messenger of Allah, are continuously connected to such things." He replied, "Indeed, I am not like you. I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and quenches my thirst."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ» مَرَّتَيْنِ قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not continue." It was said, "Indeed, you do that." He said, "I am not like any one of you. I am fed and provided with drink."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تُوَاصِلُوا» قِيلَ إِنَّكَ تَفْعَلُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ continued to fast in Ramadan, so people continued to fast. They said, "You forbade us from fasting continuously, but you continue to fast." He said, "I am not like any of you. I am fed and offered drink."

وَاصَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَوَاصَلَ النَّاسُ فَقَالُوا نَهَيْتَنَا عَنِ الْوِصَالِ وَأَنْتَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

[AI] "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ forbade intimate relations during fasting. It was said to him, 'Certainly, you do it.' He replied, 'I am not like any of you. Indeed, my Lord provides me with food and drink.'"

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فِي الصِّيَامِفَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تَفْعَلُهُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

You yourself observe the fasts uninterruptedly (but you forbid us to do so) Upon this he said: I am not like you; I am fed and supplied drink (by Allah). (Using translation from Muslim 1102b)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَاصَلَ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَوَاصَلَ النَّاسُ فَنَهَاهُمْ فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْإِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

[AI] The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ forbade meeting together. It was said, "Don't you communicate?" He said, "Indeed, I am fed and given drink."

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فَقِيلَ أَوَلَسْتَ تُوَاصِلُ؟ قَالَ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

You yourself fast uninterruptedly, whereupon he said: I am not like you. I am fed and supplied drink (by Allah). (Using translation from Muslim 1102a)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَتُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

[AI] The translation in English is: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ fasted in Ramadan, and when people saw him, they advised against it. It was said to him, 'Indeed, you fast continuously.' He replied, 'I am not like you, for I am fed and given to drink.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَاصَلَ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَرَآهُ النَّاسُ فَنَهَاهُمْ فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُمِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited perpetual fasting. They (the people) said: You keep perpetual fasting, Messenger of Allah. He said: My position is not like that you yours. I am provided with food and drink. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2360)

وَاصَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَوَاصَلَ النَّاسُ فَنَهَاهُمْ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ؟ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

Abstain from Saum-Wisal. They (his Companions) said: Messenger of Allah, but you observe Saum Wisal. Upon this he said: You are not like me in this matter, for I spend my night (in a state) that my Lord feeds me and provides me drink Devote yourselves to the deeds (the burden of which) you can bear. قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ قَالَهَا ثَلَاثَ مِرَارٍ قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ فِي ذَلِكَ مِثْلِي إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي فَاكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْأَعْمَالِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of excessive companionship. Beware of excessive companionship. Beware of excessive companionship. This is my knowledge." They said, "Are you avoiding social interaction?" He said, "I am not like any of you. Indeed, my Lord feeds me and gives me drink."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ كَذَاكَ عِلْمِي قَالُوا إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ؟ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of excessive attachment." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, you frequently engage in companionship." He said, "I am not like any one of you. Indeed, my Lord feeds me and provides me with drink."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

[AI] And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ kept going until he reached those people, so they kept going, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed about it, so he forbade them and said, "I am not like you. I am under the shade of my Lord, where He feeds me and gives me drink."

وَاصَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّاسَ فَوَاصَلُوا فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَنَهَاهُمْ وَقَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُمِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ عِنْدَ رَبِّي فَيُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of excessive intimacy." They said, "But aren't you engaged in intimacy, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied, "I am not like you in that regard. Indeed, my Lord nourishes me and quenches my thirst, so take on actions that you are capable of."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَلِكَ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي فَاكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْأَعْمَالِ مَا لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ forbade al-wisal. They said, "But you practice al-wisal." He said, "You are not like me. Indeed, Allah feeds me and quenches my thirst." And he said, "Indeed, I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and quenches my thirst."

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْوِصَالِ قَالُواإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ كَهَيْئَتِي إِنَّ اللهَ حِبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِ وَقَالَ يَزِيدُ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

[AI] And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of excessive attachment. Beware of excessive attachment." They said, "Are you admonishing us, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, "I am not like you. I spend the night being fed and quenched by my Lord, so perform actions according to your capacity."

وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ قَالُوا إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَاكُمْ مِثْلُكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي فَاكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ

[AI] "On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said: Beware of excessive physical contact between the opposite genders; they said, 'But Messenger of Allah, you engage in contact with others.' He said, 'Indeed, I am not like you in this matter. My Lord gives me food and drink, so do not burden yourselves with actions that you are not capable of.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ مَرَّتَيْنِ قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَلِكَ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي فَلَا تُكَلِّفُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited mingling. It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, you engage in mingling." He replied, "I am not like you, indeed, I remain in the company of my Lord and He feeds me and gives me drink."

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْوِصَالِ قَالَ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ عِنْدَ رَبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي

[AI] And he said, "Beware of excessive companionship." They said, "But you are constantly in the company of others, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "Indeed, I am not like you. I spend the night being fed and quenched by my Lord. So fulfill what you are capable of."

وَقَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَا مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي فَاكْلَفُوا مَا لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "I prohibited prolonged seclusion." They said: "But you engage in it." He replied: "I am not like you, indeed I am in the shade of my Lord, who feeds me and provides me with drink. Engage in actions as much as you are able to bear."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ قَالُوا إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ عِنْدَ رَبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي اكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْأَعْمَالِ مَا تُطِيقُونَ

[AI] Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbidding constant companionship. It was then asked: 'O Messenger of Allah, what about you? What do you do?' He replied: 'I am not like any of you. I am fed and given drink.'"

قَالَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ قَالَ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَمَا لَكَ أَنْتَ تَفْعَلُهُ؟ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not continue to ask." They said, "But you keep asking, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "I am not like you. I spend the night being fed and watered."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَا تُوَاصِلُوا قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade excessive proximity, and said, "Whoever does not have a need for proximity, let him maintain distance from sorcery to sorcery." It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, you practice proximity." He replied, "I am not like you. I have a sustainer who feeds me and a leg that quenches my thirst."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فَقَالَ مَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ بُدٌّ مِنَ الْوِصَالِ فَلْيُوَاصِلْ مِنَ السَّحَرِ إِلَىالسَّحَرِ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ لي مُطْعِمٌ يُطْعِمُنِي وَسَاقٍ يَسْقِينِي

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not continue to fast." It was said, "But Messenger of Allah, you continue to fast." He said, "Indeed, I am not like any of you. Indeed, my Lord feeds me and gives me drink."

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تُوَاصِلُوا فَقِيلَ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not maintain continuous relationships." They said, "Indeed, you maintain continuous relationships." He said, "Verily, you are not like me. Indeed, I spend the night without food or drink."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تُوَاصِلُوا قَالُوا إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنَّكُمْ لَسْتُمْ فِي ذَلِكَ مِثْلِي إِنِّي أَظَلُّ أَوْ قَالَ أَبِيتُ أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ, he said, "Do not consecutively fast." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, but you consecutively fast." He said, "Indeed, I am not like any of you. Indeed, I am provided with food and drink (during the night)."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تُوَاصِلُوا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

[AI] "The Prophet ﷺ said, 'Do not continue a sentence after I have stopped speaking.' They said, 'Indeed, you do continue speaking.' He said, 'I am not like any one of you. Indeed, I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and gives me to drink.'"

يَعْنِي النَّبِيَّ ﷺ لَا تُوَاصِلُوا قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Shall I not inform you of something? It was said to him, "Indeed, you are sociable (or you do communicate), O Messenger of Allah." He said, "I am not like any of you. Verily, my Lord feeds me and provides me with drink."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ أَلَا لَا تُوَاصِلُوا؟ قِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade seeking proximity through acts of worship. It was said, 'But you constantly engage in acts of worship.' He replied, 'Indeed, I spend the night while my Lord feeds me and provides me with drink.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ قَالَ فَقِيلَ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not continue fasting." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, but you continue to fast." He said, "Indeed, I am not like any of you. I spend the night and am provided with food and drink."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ لَا تُوَاصِلُوا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ وَقَالَ بَهْزٌ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ أَوْ أَبِيتُ أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

[AI] It was narrated that the Prophet ﷺ forbade being in constant companionship. It was said to him, "You associate with others." He said, "Indeed, I spend the night being fed and quenched by my Lord."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ قَالَ قِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only prohibited cupping for the fasting person and engaging in marital relations while fasting. However, he did not prohibit them from being practiced by others. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, but you engage in cupping?" He replied, "I am not like any of you, for my Lord feeds me and gives me to drink."

إِنَّمَا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْحِجَامَةِ لِلصَّائِمِ وَالْوِصَالِ فِي الصِّيَامِ؛ إِبْقَاءً عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ لَمْ يُحَرِّمْهُمَا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade intimacy during fasting, so I said to him, "Do you not engage in it?" He replied, "I am not like any of you. I spend the night being fed and watered."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فِي الصَّوْمِفَقُلْتُ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ؟ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade being in constant contact. So, it was asked, "O Messenger of Allah, do you not maintain relationships?" He replied, "Indeed, I spend my nights being fed and provided with drink by my Lord."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ؟ قَالَ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi from Abdullah ibn Umar that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade fasting for two days or more without breaking the fast in between. They said, "But Messenger of Allah, you practise wisal." He replied, "I am not the same as you. I am fed and given to drink."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَهَيْئَتِكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not speak to me." They said, "But Prophet of Allah, you speak to us." He said, "I am not like any of you, for indeed my Lord feeds and quenches me."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تُوَاصِلُوا» قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of excessive socializing, beware of excessive socializing." They said, "But you engage in socializing, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "I am not like you in that matter. Indeed, my Lord keeps me fed and gives me to drink. So, perform deeds within your capability."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ وَالْوِصَالَ» قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ «إِنِّي لَسْتُ فِي ذَلِكَ مِثْلَكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي فَاكْلَفُوا مِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا لَكُمْ بِهِ طَاقَةٌ»

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ, it is narrated that he forbade excessive socialization. It was said to him, "But you maintain frequent communication with people." He replied, "You are not like me. I have a sustainer who feeds me and gives me drink. So, whoever amongst you continues to maintain constant communication, it is from one magic spell to another."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ «لَسْتُمْ كَهَيْئَتِي إِنِّي أَبِيتُ لِيَ مُطْعِمٌ يُطْعِمُنِي وَسَاقٍ يَسْقِيَنِي فَأَيُّكُمْ وَاصَلَ فَمِنْ سَحَرٍ إِلَى سَحَرٍ»

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not continue to fast." They said, "Indeed, you continue to fast." He said, "I am not like any of you. I am fed and given drink."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تُوَاصِلُوا» قَالُوا إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ continued to fast, and the people also continued to fast. He prohibited them and said, 'I am not like any of you. My Lord provides food and drink for me.'"

وَاصَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فِي الصِّيَامِ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّاسَ فَوَاصَلُوا فَنَهَاهُمْ وَقَالَ «إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أَبِيتُ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي»
