ahmad:23084 – Wakīʿ > Sufyān > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. ʿĀbis > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abū Laylá > Baʿḍ Aṣḥāb Muḥammad ﷺ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only prohibited cupping for the fasting person and engaging in marital relations while fasting. However, he did not prohibit them from being practiced by others. They said, "O Messenger of Allah, but you engage in cupping?" He replied, "I am not like any of you, for my Lord feeds me and gives me to drink."  

أحمد:٢٣٠٨٤ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَابِسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ قَالَ

إِنَّمَا نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْحِجَامَةِ لِلصَّائِمِ وَالْوِصَالِ فِي الصِّيَامِ؛ إِبْقَاءً عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ لَمْ يُحَرِّمْهُمَا قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ قَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

A man from the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ told me that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited cupping and perpetual fasting, but he had not made them unlawful showing mercy on his Companions. Thereupon he was asked: Messenger of Allah, you observe perpetual fast till dawn. He replied: I observe perpetual fast till dawn (for) my Lord gives me food and drink.

حَدَّثَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْحِجَامَةِ وَالْمُوَاصَلَةِ وَلَمْ يُحَرِّمْهُمَا إِبْقَاءً عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ إِلَى السَّحَرِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أُوَاصِلُ إِلَى السَّحَرِ وَرَبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي  

ahmad:7330 – Sufyān > Abū al-Zinād > al-Aʿraj > Abū Hurayrah

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of excessive attachment." They said, "O Messenger of Allah, you frequently engage in companionship." He said, "I am not like any one of you. Indeed, my Lord feeds me and provides me with drink."  

أحمد:٧٣٣٠ – حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Beware of excessive companionship. Beware of excessive companionship. Beware of excessive companionship. This is my knowledge." أحمد:٧٢٢٩ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

ahmad:12740 – Muḥammad b. Jaʿfar And Rawḥ > Saʿīd > Qatādah > Anas b. Mālik

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not continue to fast." It was said, "But Messenger of Allah, you continue to fast." He said, "Indeed, I am not like any of you. Indeed, my Lord feeds me and gives me drink."  

أحمد:١٢٧٤٠ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَرَوْحٌ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

[Machine] "Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ forbade intimate relations during fasting. It was said to him, 'Certainly, you do it.' He replied, 'I am not like any of you. Indeed, my Lord provides me with food and drink.'"  

أحمد:٤٧٥٢ – حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ عَنِ الْعُمَرِيِّ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ فِي الصِّيَامِفَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تَفْعَلُهُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ only forbade intimacy during fasting and cupping for the one who is fasting to maintain the companionship, but did not prohibit them.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do not speak to me." They said, "But Prophet of Allah, you speak to us." He said, "I am not like any of you, for indeed my Lord feeds and quenches me."  

ابن حبّان:٣٥٧٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ الضَّرِيرُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا تُوَاصِلُوا» قَالُوا فَإِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ «إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ إِنَّ رَبِّي يُطْعِمُنِي وَيَسْقِينِي»  

bayhaqi:8266 – Abū ʿAbdullāh al-Ḥāfiẓ > Abū al-ʿAbbās Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb > al-Ḥasan b. ʿAlī b. ʿAffān > Abū Dāwud al-Ḥafarī > Sufyān > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. ʿĀbis > ʿAbd al-Raḥman b. Abū Laylá > a man from Aṣḥāb Muḥammad ﷺ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , prohibited continuous blood-letting and cupping for the fasting person to keep him healthy, but he did not forbid them. It was said to him (the Prophet), "You experience cupping." He replied, "Indeed, my Lord has kept me nourished and quenched."  

البيهقي:٨٢٦٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْحَفَرِيُّ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَابِسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ ﷺ قَالَ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنِ الْمُوَاصَلَةِ وَالْحِجَامَةِ لِلصَّائِمِ إِبْقَاءً عَلَى أَصْحَابِهِ وَلَمْ يُحَرِّمْهُمَا فَقِيلَ لَهُ إِنَّكَ تُوَاصِلُ فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَظَلُّ يُطْعِمُنِي رَبِّي وَيَسْقِينِي
