The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: When the words of Iqama are pronounced, none of you should run to it (to join the prayer) but walk with tranquillity and dignity, and pray what you are in time for and complete what has gone before (what the Imam has completed).

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِذَا ثُوِّبَ بِالصَّلاَةِ فَلاَ يَسْعَ إِلَيْهَا أَحَدُكُمْ وَلَكِنْ لِيَمْشِ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّكِينَةُ وَالْوَقَارُ صَلِّ مَا أَدْرَكْتَ وَاقْضِ مَا سَبَقَكَ

Come to prayer with calmness and tranquility. Then pray the part you get (long with the imam) and complete afterwards the part you miss. Abu Dawud said: Ibn Sirin narrated from Abu Hurairah the words: "he should complete it afterwards." Similarly, Abu Rafi' narrated from Abu Hurairah and Abu Dharr narrated from him the words "then complete it, and complete it afterwards." There is a variation of words in the narration from him.

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ ائْتُوا الصَّلاَةَ وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةُ فَصَلُّوا مَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ وَاقْضُوا مَا سَبَقَكُمْ

[Machine] From the Prophet ﷺ , he said: "Perform the prayer and upon you be tranquility. So pray what you have caught up with and make up for what you have missed."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ائْتُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةُ فَصَلُّوا مَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ وَاقْضُوا مَا سُبِقْتُمْ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Perform the prayer and may tranquility be upon you. Pray what you have caught up with and make up for what you have missed."

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, 'When the prayer is established, walk towards it and upon you will be tranquility and dignity. Whatever you catch, then perform it, and whatever you miss, then make it up.'"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَامْشُوا إِلَيْهَا وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةُ وَالْوَقَارُ فَمَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ فَصَلُّوا وَمَا فَاتَكُمْ فَاقْضُوا

[Machine] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said, "When the prayer is called, come to it, and upon you is tranquility. Pray what you have caught and what you have missed, then complete it."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «إِذَا أُقِيمَتِ الصَّلَاةُ فَائْتُوهَا وَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةُ فَصَلُّوا مَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ وَمَا سُبِقْتُمْ فَأَتِمُّوا»

اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إذا أتى أحدكم يعني الصلاة فلا يسع إليها وليمش وعليه السكينة والوقار فَلْيُصَلِّ مَا أَدْرَكَ وَلْيَقْضِ مَا سَبَقَهُ

اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إذا أتيتم الصلاة فأتوها وعليكم السكينة فما أدركتم فصلوا وما سبقكم فاقضوا

"ائتوا الصلاةَ، وعليكم السكينةُ، فصلوا ما أدركتُم، واقضوا ما سبقكُمْ".

"لَا تَسْتَعْجِلُوا إِذَا أَتَيتُمُ الصَّلَاةَ فَعَلَيكُم السَّكِينَةَ، فَمَا أَدْرَكْتُم فَصَلُّوا، وَمَا سَبَقَكُم (*) فَأَتِمُّوا".
