Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah does not listen to a prophet as He listens to a prophet who recites the Qur'an in a pleasant tone." The companion of the sub-narrator (Abu Salama) said, "It means, reciting it aloud."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَمْ يَأْذَنِ اللَّهُ لِشَىْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ وَقَالَ صَاحِبٌ لَهُ يُرِيدُ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ

The Prophet ﷺ I said, "Allah does not listen to a prophet as He listens to a prophet who recites the Qur'an in a loud and pleasant tone." Sufyan said, "This saying means: a prophet who regards the Qur'an as something that makes him dispense with many worldly pleasures."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَىْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِلنَّبِيِّ أَنْ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ تَفْسِيرُهُ يَسْتَغْنِي بِهِ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah never listens to anything as He listens to the Prophet ﷺ reciting Qur'an in a pleasant sweet sounding voice." A companion of Abu Huraira said, "He means, reciting the Qur'an aloud."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَىْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ وَقَالَ صَاحِبٌ لَهُ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يَجْهَرَ بِهِ

that he heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Allah does not listen to anything as He listens to the recitation of the Qur'an by a Prophet who recites it in attractive audible sweet sounding voice."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَىْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ حَسَنِ الصَّوْتِ بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ

God has not listened to anything as He listens to a Prophet reciting the Qur'an in a sweet voice.

النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَىْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ

" As He listens to a Prophet reciting the Qur'an in a sweet voice."

كَمَا يَأْذَنُ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ

Allah does not listen to anything, (more approvingly) as He listens to a Prophet reciting loudly the Qur'an in a sweet voice.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَىْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ حَسَنِ الصَّوْتِ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ

Allah has not heard anything (more pleasing) than listening to the Prophet reciting the Qur'an in a sweet loud voice.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَىْءٍ كَأَذَنِهِ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ

Allah has not listened to anything as He does to a Prophet chanting the Qur'an with a loud voice.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَىْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ حَسَنِ الصَّوْتِ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ

He heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Allah never listens to anything as He listens to a Prophet with a beautiful voice chanting the Quran aloud."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَىْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ حَسَنِ الصَّوْتِ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, never listens to anything as He listens to a Prophet chanting the Quran."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ ﷻ لِشَىْءٍ يَعْنِي أَذَنَهُ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَيْءٍ كَإِذْنِهِ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ»

[AI] "From the Prophet, peace be upon him, he said: 'Allah has not granted permission for something that He has granted permission to a prophet to indulge in reciting the Qur'an.' Abu Muhammad said: 'He intends to be self-sufficient through it.'"

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَيْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ» قَالَ أَبُو مُحَمَّد «يُرِيدُ بِهِ الِاسْتِغْنَاءَ»

Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah does not listen to a prophet as He listens to a prophet who recites the Qur'an in a pleasant tone." The companion of the sub-narrator (Abu Salama) said, "It means, reciting it aloud." (Using translation from Bukhārī 5023)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَمْ يَأْذَنِ اللَّهُ لِشَيْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ» قَالَ صَاحِبٌ لَهُ أَرَادَ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ

«مَا أَذِنَ اللَّهُ لِشَيْءٍ كَمَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ»

(The narrator Qutaibah said: This tradition has been narrated by Sa'id b. Abu Sa'id in my collection): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: He who does not chant the Qur'an is not one of us. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1469)

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Allah has not permitted anything that he has permitted for a Prophet." Abdullah ibn Razzaq asked him: "To whom does this permission apply?" The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , replied: "To the one who recites the Quran aloud."

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah does not permit anything to compete with the adhan of the muadhin and the beautiful voice reciting the Quran."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يَأْذَنُ اللهُ لِشَيْءٍ أَذَنَهُ لِأَذَانِ الْمُؤَذِّنِينَ وَالصَّوْتِ الْحَسَنِ بِالْقُرْآنِ»

Allah has not listened to anything as He does to a Prophet chanting the Qur'an with a loud voice. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1473)

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَا أَذِنَ اللهُ لِشَيْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ حَسَنُ الصَّوْتِ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ»

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, never listens to anything as He listens to a Prophet chanting the Quran." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 1018)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا أَذِنَ اللهٌ لِشَيْءٍ يَعْنِي إِذْنَهُ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ»

that he heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Allah does not listen to anything as He listens to the recitation of the Qur'an by a Prophet who recites it in attractive audible sweet sounding voice." (Using translation from Bukhārī 7544)

أنه سمع رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَا أَذِنَ اللهُ لِشَيْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ حَسَنِ الصَّوْتِ بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ»

Allah has not listened to anything as He does to a Prophet chanting the Qur'an with a loud voice. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 1473)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَا أَذِنَ اللهُ لِشَيْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ أَنْ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ»

[AI] We used to pray with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ the Maghrib prayer when it got dark with the veil.

كُنَّا نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَغْرِبَ إِذَا تَوَارَتْ بِالْحِجَابِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has not allowed anything that He has not allowed for a Prophet with a beautiful voice to recite the Quran melodiously and aloud."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا أَذِنَ اللهُ لِشَيْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ حَسَنِ الصَّوْتِ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ heard saying: Allah has not granted permission for anything like the permission granted to a Prophet with a beautiful voice to recite the Quran aloud.

سَمِعَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا أَذِنَ اللهُ لِشَيْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ حَسَنِ الصَّوْتِ بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah did not permit anything that He permitted for a prophet to indulge in reciting the Quran, and his companion said to him, 'It (the recitation) increases him in arrogance."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا أَذِنَ اللهُ لِشَيْءٍ مَا أَذِنَ لِنَبِيٍّ يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ وَقَالَ صَاحِبٌ لَهُ زَادَ يَجْهَرُ بِهِ

"إِنَّ الله لَيَأْذَنُ لِلرَّجُلِ يَكُونُ حَسَنَ الصَّوْتِ يتَغَنَّى بالْقُرْآنِ".

"مَا أَذِنَ اللهُ لِشَىْءٍ مَا أَذِن لِنَبِيٍّ حَسَن الصَّوْتِ يَتَغَنَّى بِالقرآن يَجْهَرُ بِه".

"مَا أَذِن اللهُ لِشَىْءٍ كَإِذنِه لِعَبْدٍ يَتَرَنَّمُ بِالْقُرآنِ"

"مَا أَذِن اللهُ لشَىْء مَا أذِنَ لِرَجُل حَسَن التَّرَنُّم بالقُرآنِ".

"مَا أَذِنَ اللهُ لِشَىْء كَإِذْنِه الَّذي يَتَغَنَّى بِالْقُرْآنِ يَجْهَرُ به".

"لا يَأذَنُ اللهُ تَعَالى لِشَىْءٍ إِذْنَهُ لأذَانِ المُؤَذِّنِينَ، وَالصَّوْتِ الْحَسَنِ بِالْقُرآنِ".

"لا يَأذَنُ اللهُ لِشْئٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الأَرضِ إِلا لأصواتِ المُؤذِّنين، وَلِذِي الصَّوْتِ الحَسَنِ بِالْقُرآنِ".

"إِنَّ الله - ﷻ - لَا يَأذَنُ لِشَىْءٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الأرْضِ إِلَّا لأذَانِ الْمُؤَذنِينَ، وَالصَّوْتِ الْحَسَن بِالْقُرآنِ".
