[Machine] A man from the Muslims asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, "O Messenger of Allah, how is the night prayer?" He replied, "Two by two, and if you fear the approach of dawn, then perform the odd prayer." Abdullah ibn Umar used to give salutations after every two units of prayer, then perform the odd prayer.  

البيهقي:٤٧٦٧وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْمُزَنِيُّ ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ أَخْبَرَنِي شُعَيْبٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَخْبَرَنَي سَالِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ قَالَ

سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَيْفَ صَلَاةُ اللَّيْلِ؟ فَقَالَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ يُسَلِّمُ فِي كُلِّ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ يُوتِرُ بِوَاحِدَةٍ  

رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ أَبِي الْيَمَانِ

[Machine] That a man asked the Prophet ﷺ about the night prayer, so he said: "Pray two by two. When you fear the break of dawn, perform the Witr prayer with one rak'ah."

أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ عَنْ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خَشِيتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِرَكْعَةٍ
