Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is not permissible for any Muslim who has something to will to stay for two nights without having his last will and testament written and kept ready with him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ شَىْءٌ يُوصِي فِيهِ يَبِيتُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ إِلاَّ وَوَصِيَّتُهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ عِنْدَهُ

It is the duty of a Muslim who has something which is to be given as a bequest not to have it for two nights without having his will written down regarding it.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ شَىْءٌ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُوصِيَ فِيهِ يَبِيتُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ إِلاَّ وَوَصِيَّتُهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ عِنْدَهُ

It is not proper for a Muslim who has got something to bequeathe to spend even three nights without having his will written down with him regarding it. 'Abdullah b. 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) said: Ever since I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ say this I have not spent a night without having my will (written) along with me.

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ شَىْءٌ يُوصِي فِيهِ يَبِيتُ ثَلاَثَ لَيَالٍ إِلاَّ وَوَصِيَّتُهُ عِنْدَهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ مَا مَرَّتْ عَلَىَّ لَيْلَةٌ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ ذَلِكَ إِلاَّ وَعِنْدِي وَصِيَّتِي

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ as saying: It is the duty of a Muslim man who has something which is to be given as bequest not to have it for two nights without having his will written regarding it.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ شَىْءٌ يُوصِي فِيهِ يَبِيتُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ إِلاَّ وَوَصِيَّتُهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ عِنْدَهُ

The Messenger of Allah said: "A Muslim man has no right to spend two nights while he has something to will, except while his will is recorded with him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ يَبِيتُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ وَلَهُ شَيْءٌ يُوصِي فِيهِ إِلاَّ وَوَصِيَّتُهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ عِنْدَهُ قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى

"It is not right for a Muslim man to spend two nights, having what he would will, without having his will written with him."

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ يَبِيتُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ وَلَهُ مَا يُوصِي فِيهِ إِلاَّ وَوَصِيَّتُهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ عِنْدَهُ

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'It is not befitting for a Muslim who has anything concerning which a will should be made, to abide for two nights without having a written will with him.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ شَىْءٌ يُوصَى فِيهِ أَنْ يَبِيتَ لَيْلَتَيْنِ إِلاَّ وَوَصِيَّتُهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ عِنْدَهُ

"It is not befitting for a Muslim who has anything concerning which a will should be made, to abide for two nights without having a written will with him."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ شَىْءٌ يُوصَى فِيهِ يَبِيتُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ إِلاَّ وَوَصِيَّتُهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ عِنْدَهُ

"It is not befitting for a Muslim to abide for three nights without having his will with him." 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said: "Since I heard this from the Messenger of Allah, I have always had my will with me."

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ تَمُرُّ عَلَيْهِ ثَلاَثُ لَيَالٍ إِلاَّ وَعِنْدَهُ وَصِيَّتُهُ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ مَا مَرَّتْ عَلَىَّ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ ذَلِكَ إِلاَّ وَعِنْدِي وَصِيَّتِي

"It is not right for a Muslim who has anything concerning which a will should be made, to abide for more than three nights without having a written will with him."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ شَىْءٌ يُوصَى فِيهِ فَيَبِيتُ ثَلاَثَ لَيَالٍ إِلاَّ وَوَصِيَّتُهُ عِنْدَهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ

“The Muslim man has no right to spend two nights, if he has something for which a will should be made, without having a written will with him.”

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ لَهُشَيْءٌ يُوصِي فِيهِ يَبِيتُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتُهُ عِنْدَهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A Muslim who has wealth that can be bequeathed should not spend three nights without having his will written and kept with him." Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Since I heard this, I have not spent a night without keeping my will written with me."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ مَالٌ يُوصَى فِيهِ يَبِيتُ ثَلَاثًا إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتُهُ عِنْدَهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ فَمَا بِتُّ لَيْلَةً مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُهَا إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتِي عِنْدِي مَكْتُوبَةٌ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is not permissible for a Muslim that three nights should pass by him without having a will written."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ تَمُرُّ عَلَيْهِ ثَلَاثُ لَيَالٍ إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتُهُ عِنْدَهُ»

"It is not befitting for a Muslim to abide for three nights without having his will with him." 'Abdullah bin 'Umar said: "Since I heard this from the Messenger of Allah, I have always had my will with me." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3618)

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ يَمُرُّ عَلَيْهِ ثَلَاثُ لَيَالٍ إِلَّا وَعِنْدَهُ وَصِيَّتُهُ» قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ مَا مَرَّتْ عَلَيَّ لَيْلَةٌ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ ذَلِكَ إِلَّا وَعِنْدِي وَصِيَّتِي

"It is not right for a Muslim who has anything concerning which a will should be made, to abide for more than three nights without having a written will with him." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3619)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ شَيْءٌ يُوصَى فِيهِ يَبِيتُ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتُهُ عِنْدَهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It is not befitting for a Muslim to have something that he wishes to advise on and go to sleep for three nights without having his will written with him." Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "No night has passed since I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say this, except that I have my will with me."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ لَهُ شَيْءٌ يُوصِي فِيهِ يَبِيتُ ثَلَاثَ لَيَالٍ إِلَّا وَوَصِيَّتُهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ عِنْدَهُ قَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ مَا مَرَّتْ عَلَيَّ لَيْلَةٌ مُنْذُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ ذَلِكَ إِلَّا وَعِنْدِي وَصِيَّتِي

"مَا حَقُّ امْرئٍ مُسْلمٍ لَهُ شَيء يُريدُ أنْ يُوصِيَ فيه يَبِيتُ لَيلَتَينِ إِلا وَوَصيتهُ مَكْتُوبَة عنْدَهُ".

"مَا حَقُّ امْرِئ مُسْلم لَهُ شَيء يُوصى فيه يَبِيتُ ثَلاثَ لَيَالي إِلَّا وَوَصيتهُ عنْدَهُ مَكْتُوبَة".
