Why al-Miswar declined Hasan ibn Hasan's proposal
[AI] Hasan ibn Hasan sent to him to ask for his daughter's hand in marriage, so he said to him: Tell him to meet me at nightfall. He said: He met him, and al-Miswar praised Allah and extolled Him, and said: As for what follows, by Allah, there is no lineage, bond, or marriage tie more beloved to me than your bond and your marriage tie. But the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Fatimah is a part of me; what constricts her constricts me, and what gladdens her gladdens me. And lineages on the Day of Resurrection will be cut off except my lineage, my bond, and my marriage tie." And you have her daughter with you, and if I were to marry you to my daughter, that would distress her. He then left, accepting his excuse.
