Al-Miqdam Abu karimah al-Shamee (ra) has reported the prophet j|| as saying," If a guest arrives then it is Wajib on every Muslim to serve him the night’s meal. And, if a guest stays at his house until morning then the morning meal is a debt on him which the guest may receive or forsake."

الأدب المفرد:٧٤٤حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ عَنِ الْمِقْدَامِ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ الشَّامِيِّ قَالَ

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَيْلَةُ الضَّيْفِ حَقٌّ وَاجِبٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ فَمَنْ أَصْبَحَ بِفِنَائِهِ فَهُوَ دَيْنٌ عَلَيْهِ إِنْ شَاءَ فَإِنْ شَاءَ اقْتَضَاهُ وَإِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَهُ

The Prophet ﷺ said: It is a duty of every Muslim (to provide hospitality) to a guest for a night. If anyone comes in the morning to his house, it is a debt due to him. If he wishes, he may fulfil it, and if he wishes he may leave it.

أبو داود:٣٧٥٠حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ وَخَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ عَامِرٍ عَنْ أَبِي كَرِيمَةَ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةُ الضَّيْفِ حَقٌّ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ فَمَنْ أَصْبَحَ بِفِنَائِهِ فَهُوَ عَلَيْهِ دَيْنٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اقْتَضَى وَإِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: ' Putting up a guest for one night is obligatory. If you find a guest at your door in the morning, then this (hospitality) is (like) a debt that you (the host) owe him. If he (the guest) wants, he may request it, and if he wants, he may leave it'"
