"A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'As-Salamu 'Alaykum (Peace be upon you).'" [He said:] "So the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Ten.' Then another came and he said: 'As-Salamu 'Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah (Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah).' So the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Twenty.' Then another came and said: 'As-Salamu 'Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh (Peace be upon you, and the mercy of Allah, and His Blessings).' So the Prophet ﷺ said: 'Thirty.'"  

أَنَّ رَجُلاً جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ قَالَ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عَشْرٌ ثُمَّ جَاءَ آخَرُ فَقَالَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ عِشْرُونَ ثُمَّ جَاءَ آخَرُ فَقَالَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ ثَلاَثُونَ  

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Peace be upon you! He responded to his salutation. He then sat down. The Prophet ﷺ said: Ten. Another man came and said: Peace and Allah's mercy be upon you! He responded to his salutation when he sat down. He said: Twenty. Another man came and said: Peace and Allah's mercy and blessings be upon you! جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ «عَشْرٌ» ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ فََقَالَ «عِشْرُونَ» ثُمَّ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ فَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ وَقَالَ «ثَلَاثُونَ»  

[Machine] A man came to a gathering where the Prophet ﷺ was present, and he greeted them by saying, "Peace be upon you." The Prophet ﷺ responded to him with peace and said, "Ten blessings." Then another man came and greeted them by saying, "Peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Twenty." Then another man came and greeted them by saying, "Peace be upon you, the mercy of Allah, and His blessings." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Forty." He also said, "This is how blessings are."  

أَنَّ رَجُلًا جَاءَ إِلَى مَجْلِسٍ وَفِيهِ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامَ وَقَالَ «عَشْرُ حَسَنَاتٍ» ثُمَّ أَتَى آخَرُ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ فَقَالَ «عِشْرُونَ» ثُمَّ أَتَى آخَرُ فَقَالَ السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ فَقَالَ «أَرْبَعُونَ» وَقَالَ «هَكَذَا يَكُونُ الْفَضْلُ»
