[Machine] Anas ibn Malik informed me that he was with the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ serving and accompanying him, and he said that Abu Bakr used to lead them in prayer during the illness of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when he passed away. Then, on Monday, he mentioned this hadith.
[Machine] I heard Anas bin Malik say that three birds were gifted to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , so he fed his servant one of them. When the next day came, she brought it to him and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to her, "Didn't I tell you not to raise anything for tomorrow, for surely Allah brings provision for every day?"

[Machine] The prayer was established, then the Prophet of Allah ﷺ went out and a man stood in his way, holding him back until some people almost fell asleep.
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw a phlegm in the direction of the Qibla of the mosque, so he wiped it. Then, he showed extreme discomfort on his face because of that. He said, "Indeed, when a servant stands to pray, he is conversing privately with his Lord between him and the Qibla. So, if one of you spits, let him spit to his left or under his left foot, or do like this." Then, he took a corner of his garment and spat in it, then rubbed some of it with another part.

Let them spit if they happen to spit to their left or under their foot.' He gestured as if it were on his garment. He said, 'We used to say to Humaid, and he would say, "Glory be to Allah, who is he referring to?" meaning the Prophet ﷺ , and he would not give us any more explanation.'"

His companions came to visit him, and he led them in prayer while sitting, while they stood. When the next prayer time came, he told them to designate an Imam and that when he prays standing, they should pray standing, but when he prays sitting, they should pray sitting with him. A revelation then came down saying the prayer consists of twenty-nine units. They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, you have stayed for a month.' He replied, 'The month consists of twenty-nine days.'"

When the Prophet ﷺ heard this, he sent a message to the Ansar and asked, "Is there anyone among you who is not from your own people?" They replied, "Only the son of our sister." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The son of a people is from among them. It seems you said such and such. Are you not pleased that people should go with worldly goods while you go with Muhammad to your homes?" They replied, "Yes, O Messenger of Allah." He said, "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, if people were to take a valley or a mountain, I would choose the valley of the Ansar, or their mountain. The Ansar are my support and my refuge. [Machine] While the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was praying, he heard a baby crying, so he hurriedly finished his prayer. We thought that he had shortened his prayer because of the baby, as his mother was also praying.

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ traveled to Khaibar and arrived there at night. He mentioned that whenever the Prophet ﷺ approached a place at night, the people there would not be disturbed until morning. If he heard the call to prayer, he would stop, but if the people were not praying, he would become angry with them. When morning came, he and the Muslims mounted their rides. The people of the village came out with their ropes and tools. When they saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Muslims, they said, "By Allah and Al-Khamis, this is Muhammad!" The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Khaibar is destroyed. Whenever we approach the land of a people, the morning is a bad time for those who are warned." Anas ibn Malik said, "I was by the side of Abu Talha, and indeed my foot touched the foot of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ .

[Machine] He complained about it, and when we entered upon him, he greeted us and said, "Did you pray?" We said, "Yes." He said, "O daughter of my neighbor, come and join me for ablution as I have never prayed behind an imam after the Messenger of Allah ﷺ who resembled the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ more than your imam." Isam said in his hadith, Zaid said, "Abu Bakr and Umar were not mentioned in this regard." Zaid said, "And Umar used to complete the ruku' and sujud, and he would shorten the qiyam and the sitting."

Then, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up and left, staying away for as long as Allah willed, and then he returned while the people were still sitting just as they were. This troubled him and it became known on his face, and that is when the verse of hijab was revealed.
