[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik, from Zaid bin Aslam, from Ibrahim bin Abdullah bin Hunayn, from his father, that Ibn Abbas and Musawir bin Makhrama differed regarding the ablution of a person in a state of ihram (ritual consecration for Hajj or Umrah). Ibn Abbas said that the person in ihram should wash his head, while Musawir said that the person in ihram should not wash his head. So, Ibn Abbas sent him to Abu Ayyub al-Ansari. He found him washing between the two pillars while covering himself with a garment. Ibn Abbas greeted him, and Abu Ayyub asked, "Who is this?" Ibn Abbas replied, "I am Abdullah bin Hunayn, sent to you by Abdullah bin Abbas. I ask you how the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to wash his head while in a state of ihram?" Abu Ayyub placed his hand on the garment and nodded at me, then said to someone, "Pour (water) over his head." So, he poured water over his head, and Abu Ayyub moved his head with his hands, both facing the Kaaba and turning away from it. Then, Abu Ayyub said, "This is how I saw him (the Prophet) doing it."
