[Machine] Al-Qa'nabi narrated from Malik, from Hisham ibn 'Urwah, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to 'Abdul-Rahman ibn 'Auf, "How did you handle the corner?" referring to the Black Stone. 'Abdul-Rahman said, "I touched it and left." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You have done it right."

الطبراني:٢٥٧ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ؓ «كَيْفَ صَنَعْتَ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ فِي اسْتِلَامِ الرُّكْنِ؟» يَعْنِي الْحَجَرَ الْأَسْوَدَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ اسْتَلَمْتُ وَتَرَكْتُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ «أَصَبْتَ»

malik:20-117 – Mālik > Hishām b. ʿUrwah from his father

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa that his father said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ once said to Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf, "What do you do, Abu Muhammad, when saluting the corner?" and Abd ar-Rahman said, "Sometimes I salute it, and sometimes I don't." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You are right."

مالك:٢٠-١١٧ – وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ كَيْفَ صَنَعْتَ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ فِي اسْتِلاَمِ الرُّكْنِ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ اسْتَلَمْتُ وَتَرَكْتُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَصَبْتَ

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to Abdullah ibn al-Rahman, "What did you do, O Abu Muhammad, when receiving the corner?" meaning the Black Stone. Abdullah ibn al-Rahman replied, "I touched it and then left it." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "You have done right."

الحاكم:٥٣٣٧ – أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي نَصْرٍ ثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى الْقَاضِي ثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ فِيمَا قَرَأَ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِعَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ «مَا صَنَعْتَ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ فِي اسْتِلَامِ الرُّكْنِ؟ يَعْنِي الْحَجَرَ الْأَسْوَدَ » فَقَالَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ اسْتَلَمْتُ وَتَرَكْتُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «أَصَبْتَ»

قَالَ الْحَاكِمُ «لَسْتُ أَشُكُّ فِي لُقِيِّ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ عَوْفٍ فَإِنْ كَانَ سَمِعَ مِنْهُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ فَإِنَّهُ صَحِيحٌ عَلَى شَرْطِ الشَّيْخَيْنِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ»

"عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ: قال لِى رَسُولُ الله ﷺ حِينَ فَرَغْنَا مِنَ الطَّوَافِ بِالْبَيْت: كَيْفَ صَنَعْتَ يَا أبَا مُحَمَّدٍ في اسْتِلاَمِ الرُّكْنِ؟ قُلتُ: اسْتَلَمْتُ وَتَركْتُ، قَالَ: أَصَبْتَ".
