[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed either Dhuhr or Asr prayer with three units of prayer. Then, a man named Al-Khirbaaq said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, you only prayed three units of prayer." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ asked him, "Is that how it seems to you?" They replied, "Yes." So, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed one more unit of prayer, then made the testimony of faith, and concluded the prayer. Then, he performed two prostrations of forgetfulness.  

الطبراني:١٥٦١٦ – حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ بَكَّارٍ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ ثَلَاثَ رَكَعَاتٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْخِرْبَاقُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّمَا صَلَّيْتَ ثَلَاثَ رَكَعَاتٍ فَقَالَ «أَكَذَاكَ؟» قَالُوا نَعَمْ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ تَشَهَّدَ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ

A man from the companions of the Prophet, ﷺ , whose nickname was Al-Khirbaq, asked: "Has the prayer been shortened?" So, he asked the Prophet, ﷺ , and when he learned that what he said was true, he prayed one unit of prayer, then said the tasleem, then prostrated for two units of prayer, then said the tasleem.  

أحمد:١٩٩٦٠ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ خَالِدٍ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ قَالَ

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ ثَلَاثَ رَكَعَاتٍ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺيُقَالُ لَهُ الْخِرْبَاقُ أَقُصِرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ؟ فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَإِذَا هُوَ كَمَا قَالَ قَالَ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ  

ذِكْرُ الْخَبَرِ الْمُدْحِضِ قَوْلَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ يَجِبُ أَنْ تَكُونَا فِي كُلِّ الْأَحْوَالِ قَبْلَ السَّلَامِ

[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ used to pray three units of prayer before or after the noon or afternoon prayer. It was said to him: "Is that how you pray?" He replied, "Yes." So, he prayed one unit of prayer, then he sat and made the testimony of faith and salutation, then he prostrated twice for the forgetfulness, then he made the salutation.  

ابن حبّان:٢٦٧٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ خَتَنُ الْمُقْرِيِّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ صَلَّى صَلَاةَ الظُّهْرِ أَوِ الْعَصْرِ ثَلَاثَ رَكَعَاتٍ فَقِيلَ لَهُ فَقَالَ «أَكَذَلِكَ؟ » قَالُوا نَعَمْ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ تَشَهَّدَ وَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ

[Machine] That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed three units of either Dhuhr or Asr prayer, and a man known as Al-Khirbaq said to him, "O Messenger of Allah, you only prayed three units." He said, "Is that so?" They said, "Yes." He said, "Then he stood and prayed, then he prostrated, then he recited the Tashahhud and gave the greeting of peace, then he prostrated twice for forgetfulness, then he gave the greeting of peace. This is the correct narration, and Allah knows best."  

البيهقي:٣٨٩٨ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ثنا الرَّبِيعُ ثنا هُشَيْمٌ أنبأ خَالِدٌ عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ ثنا أَبُو الْمُهَلَّبِ عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى الظُّهْرَ أَوِ الْعَصْرَ ثَلَاثَ رَكَعَاتٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْخِرْبَاقُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّمَا صَلَّيْتَ ثَلَاثَ رَكَعَاتٍ قَالَ أَكَذَلِكَ؟ قَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّى ثُمَّ سَجَدَ ثُمَّ تَشَهَّدَ وَسَلَّمَ وَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ هَذَا هُوَ الصَّحِيحُ بِهَذَا اللَّفْظِ وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ
