That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the people of weights and measures: "Indeed you have been entrusted with two matters that nations preceding you in the past were destroyed for."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لأَصْحَابِ الْمِكْيَالِ وَالْمِيزَانِ إِنَّكُمْ قَدْ وُلِّيتُمْ أَمْرَيْنِ هَلَكَتْ فِيهِ الأُمَمُ السَّالِفَةُ قَبْلَكُمْ

That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the people of weights and measures: "Indeed you have been entrusted with two matters that nations preceding you in the past were destroyed for." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1217)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لِأَصْحَابِ الْكَيْلِ وَالْوَزْنِ «إِنَّكُمْ قَدْ وُلِّيتُمْ أَمْرًا فِيهِ هَلَكَةُ الْأُمَّةِ السَّالِفَةِ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to the companions regarding measuring and weighing: "You have been entrusted with something in which the previous nations were destroyed."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِأَصْحَابِ الْكَيْلِ وَالْمِيزَانِ «إِنَّكُمْ قَدْ وُلِّيتُمْ أَمْرًا فِيهِ هَلَكَتِ الْأُمَمُ السَّالِفَةُ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "O merchants, you have been entrusted with a matter in which previous nations have perished - the measure and the balance. This was established by Abu Ali Hanash, and others have narrated it from another aspect by Ibn Abbas."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَا مَعْشَرَ التُّجَّارِ إِنَّكُمْ قَدْ وُلِّيتُمْ أَمْرًا هَلَكَتْ فِيهِ الْأُمَمُ السَّالِفَةُ الْمِكْيَالَ وَالْمِيزَانَ أَسْنَدَهُ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ حَنَشٌ وَوَقَفَهُ غَيْرُهُ مِنْ وَجْهٍ آخَرَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

"يَا مَعْشَرَ التُجَّارِ: إِنَّكُمْ قَدْ وَلِيتُمْ أَمْرًا هَلَكَتْ فِيهِ الأُمَمُ السَّالِفَةُ: الْمِكْيَالَ وَالْمِيزَانَ".
