Once the Prophet ﷺ set out in the month of Ramadan. He observed fasting till he reached a place called Kadid where he broke his fast.

خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَصَامَ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْكَدِيدَ أَفْطَرَ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ

Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out during the month of Ramadan in the year of Victory (when Mecca was conquered) and was fasting till he reached Kadid (a canal situated at a distance of forty-two miles from Mecca) and he then broke the fast. And it was the habit of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ to follow him in every new thing (or act). So they followed him also (in this matter).

أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَصَامَ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْكَدِيدَ ثُمَّ أَفْطَرَ وَكَانَ صَحَابَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَّبِعُونَ الأَحْدَثَ فَالأَحْدَثَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out during the year of the conquest and he fasted. The people also fasted until reaching al-Qadeed (a place). Then, he broke his fast and the people broke their fast. They used to follow the latest action of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."

«خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فَصَامَ وَصَامَ النَّاسُ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْكَدِيدَ ثُمَّ أَفْطَرَ فَأَفْطَرَ النَّاسُ» فَكَانُوا يَأْخُذُونَ بِالْأَحْدَثِ فَالْأَحْدَثِ مِنْ فِعْلِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

[AI] From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , it is reported that he went out during the year of conquest (of Mecca) in the month of Ramadan and fasted until he reached Kadeed, then he broke his fast.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَصَامَ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْكَدِيدَ فَأَفْطَرَ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ left for Makkah in the year of victory during the month of Ramadan. He fasted until he reached Al-Qudaid, then he broke his fast.

خَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ إِلَى مَكَّةَ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَصَامَ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْكُدَيْدَ ثُمَّ أَفْطَرَ

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Ubaydullah ibn Abdullah ibn Utba ibn Masud from Abdullah ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ left for Makka in Ramadan during the year of the conquest, and fasted until he reached al-Kadid. He then broke the fast, and so everyone else did so as well. What people used to do was act according to whatever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had done most recently.

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَصَامَ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْكَدِيدَ ثُمَّ أَفْطَرَ فَأَفْطَرَ النَّاسُ وَكَانُوا يَأْخُذُونَ بِالأَحْدَثِ فَالأَحْدَثِ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ

[AI] "That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out in the year of the conquest during the month of Ramadan and he fasted until he reached Al-Kadeed, then he broke his fast." He said, "So the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to follow the latest, the most recent in his affairs."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَصَامَ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْكَدِيدَ ثُمَّ أَفْطَرَ» قَالَ فَكَانَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَّبِعُونَ الْأَحْدَثَ فَالْأَحْدَثَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ

[AI] "The Messenger of Allahﷺ went out to Makkah during the year of the conquest in the month of Ramadan. He fasted until he reached Kadeed. Then he broke his fast, and the people also broke their fast with him. They used to follow the latest guidance and instruction from the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him."

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فِي رَمَضَانَ فَصَامَ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْكَدِيدَ ثُمَّ أَفْطَرَ وَأَفْطَرَ النَّاسُ مَعَهُ وَكَانُوا يَأْخُذُونَ بِالْأَحْدَثِ فَالْأَحْدَثِ مِنْ أَمْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ»

[AI] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ emerged in the year of conquest in the month of Ramadan and fasted until he reached Kadeed. Then, he broke his fast. He said, 'The companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to follow the newest (or latest) practice from his affairs.'"

«أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ خَرَجَ عَامَ الْفَتْحِ فِي شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ فَصَامَ حَتَّى بَلَغَ الْكَدِيدَ ثُمَّ أَفْطَرَ قَالَ وَكَانَ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَتَّبِعُونَ الْأَحْدَثَ فَالْأَحْدَثَ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ»
