Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "While I was sleeping, I saw that a cup full of milk was brought to me and I drank my fill till I noticed (the milk) its wetness coming out of my nails. Then I gave the remaining milk to ʿUmar Ibn Al-Khattab" The companions of the Prophet ﷺ asked, "What have you interpreted (about this dream)? "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ ,!" he replied, "(It is religious) knowledge."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحِ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبْتُ حَتَّى إِنِّي لأَرَى الرِّيَّ يَخْرُجُ فِي أَظْفَارِي ثُمَّ أَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قَالُوا فَمَا أَوَّلْتَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ الْعِلْمَ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "While I was sleeping, I saw a bowl full of milk was brought to me and I drank of it (to my fill) till I noticed its wetness flowing (in my body). Then I gave the remaining of it to ʿUmar." They asked, "O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! What have you interpreted (about the dream)? He said, "(It is Religious) knowledge." (See Hadith No. 134)

Then I gave the rest of it to ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab." The persons sitting around him, asked, "What have you interpreted (about the dream) O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said, "(It is religious) knowledge."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحِ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى إِنِّي لأَرَى الرِّيَّ يَخْرُجُ مِنْ أَطْرَافِي فَأَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ فَقَالَ مَنْ حَوْلَهُ فَمَا أَوَّلْتَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ الْعِلْمَ

While I was asleep I saw (in a dream) a cup containing milk being presented to me. I took out of that until I perceived freshness being reflected through my nails. Then I presented the leftover to 'Umar b. Khattab. They said: Messenger of Allah: How do you interpret it? He said: This implies knowledge.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ إِذْ رَأَيْتُ قَدَحًا أُتِيتُ بِهِ فِيهِ لَبَنٌ فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى إِنِّي لأَرَى الرِّيَّ يَجْرِي فِي أَظْفَارِي ثُمَّ أَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قَالُوا فَمَا أَوَّلْتَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ الْعِلْمَ

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'I saw that I was brought a cup of milk, so I drank from it, and I gave my leftover to 'Umar bin Al-Khattab.' They said: 'So what did you interpret it as O Messenger of Allah?' He said: '(It is) Knowledge.'"

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ رَأَيْتُ كَأَنِّي أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ فَأَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قَالُوا فَمَا أَوَّلْتَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ الْعِلْمَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ

I heard Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "While I was sleeping, I saw that a cup full of milk was brought to me and I drank of it and gave the remaining of it to ʿUmar bin Al-Khattab." They asked. What have you interpreted (about the dream)? O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" The Prophet ﷺ said. "(It is Religious) knowledge." (Using translation from Bukhārī 7032)

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "I was given a cup of milk while I was asleep, and I drank from it until the milk started coming out from my fingertips. Then I passed the remaining milk to 'Umar ibn Al-Khattab. He asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, what did you give me?' He said, 'Knowledge.'"

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُحَدِّثُ قَالَ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحِ [لَبَنٍ] فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى إِنِّي أَرَى الرِّيَّ يَخْرُجُ في أَطْرَافِي ثُمَّ أَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ فَقَالُوا فَمَا أَوَّلْتَ ذَلِكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ الْعِلْمُ

قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُ أَنِّي أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحٍ فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى إِنِّي أَرَى الرِّيَّ يَخْرُجُ ثُمَّ أَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ» قَالُوا فَمَا أَوَّلْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَالَ «الْعِلْمَ»

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ أُتِيتُ بِقَدَحٍ مِنْ لَبَنٍ فَشَرِبْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى إِنِّي لَأَرَى الرِّيَّ يَجْرِي فِي أَظْفَارِي ثُمَّ أَعْطَيْتُ فَضْلِي عُمَرَ» قَالُوا فَمَا أَوَّلْتَ ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ «الْعِلْمَ»

"بَينَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ أُتِيتُ بقَدَحِ لَبَنٍ فَشَربْتُ مِنْهُ حَتَّى إِنِّي لأرَى الرِّيَّ يَجْرى في أظفَارِى، ثُمَّ أَعْطَيتُ فَضْلِى عُمَرَ بْنَ الخَطَّابِ، قَالُوا: فَمَا أَوَّلتَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ؟ قَال: العِلمُ".
