Allah. 's Messenger (peace be upon him) observed Sa'i and walked quickly round the House with a view to showing his strength to the polytheists.  

مسلم:١٢٦٦b – وَحَدَّثَنِي عَمْرٌو النَّاقِدُ وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ جَمِيعًا عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبْدَةَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

إِنَّمَا سَعَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَرَمَلَ بِالْبَيْتِ لِيُرِيَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قُوَّتَهُ

bukhari:4257 – Muḥammad > Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah > ʿAmr > ʿAṭāʾ > Ibn ʿAbbās

The Prophet ﷺ hastened in going around the Kaʿba and between the Safa and Marwa in order to show the pagans his strength. Ibn ʿAbbas added, "When the Prophet ﷺ arrived (at Mecca) in the year of peace (following that of Al-Hudaibiya treaty with the pagans of Mecca), he (ordered his companions) to do Ramal in order to show their strength to the pagans and the pagans were watching (the Muslims) from (the hill of) Quaiqan.  

البخاري:٤٢٥٧ – حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ

إِنَّمَا سَعَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ لِيُرِيَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قُوَّتَهُ  

nasai:2979 – Abū ʿAmmār al-Ḥusayn b. Ḥurayth > Sufyān > ʿAmr > ʿAṭāʾ > Ibn ʿAbbās

"The Prophet walked rapidly betwwne As-Safa and Al-Marwah to show the idolaters that he was strong."  

النسائي:٢٩٧٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمَّارٍ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرٍو عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

إِنَّمَا سَعَى النَّبِيُّ ﷺ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ لِيُرِيَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قُوَّتَهُ  

tabarani:11381 – Bishr b. Mūsá > al-Ḥumaydī > Sufyān > ʿAmr b. Dīnār > ʿAṭāʾ > Ibn ʿAbbās

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ only ran between Safa and Marwah in order to show the strength to the polytheists."  

الطبراني:١١٣٨١ – حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا الْحُمَيْدِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

«إِنَّمَا سَعَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ لِيُرِيَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ قُوَّتَهُ»
