The Prophet ﷺ gathered some people of Ansar and said, "The People of Quraish are still close to their Pre-lslamic period of ignorance and have suffered a lot, and I want to help them and attract their hearts (by giving them the war booty). Won't you be pleased that the people take the worldly things) and you take Messenger of Allah ﷺ with you to your homes?" They said, "Yes, (i.e. we are pleased with this distribution)." The Prophet ﷺ said, "'If the people took their way through a valley and the Ansar took their way through a mountain pass, then I would take the Ansar's valley or the Ansar's mountain pass."  

جَمَعَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ نَاسًا مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ قُرَيْشًا حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ وَمُصِيبَةٍ وَإِنِّي أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَجْبُرَهُمْ وَأَتَأَلَّفَهُمْ أَمَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ النَّاسُ بِالدُّنْيَا وَتَرْجِعُونَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَى بُيُوتِكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى قَالَ لَوْ سَلَكَ النَّاسُ وَادِيًا وَسَلَكَتِ الأَنْصَارُ شِعْبًا لَسَلَكْتُ وَادِيَ الأَنْصَارِ أَوْ شِعْبَ الأَنْصَارِ  

that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered a group of people from the Ansar and said: "Come, is there anyone among you who is from other than you?" They said: "No, except the son of a sister of ours." So he said: "The son of the sister of a people is from them." Then he said: "Indeed the Quraish is not far from their time of ignorance and affliction, and I wished that I subdue them and coax them. Are you not happy that the people return with this world and you return to your homes with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" They said: "Of course we are." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "If the people were to pass through a valley or a path, and the Ansar passed through a valley or a path then I would pass through the valley or path of the Ansar."  

جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ نَاسًا مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فَقَالَ هَلُمَّ هَلْ فِيكُمْ أَحَدٌ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ قَالُوا لاَ إِلاَّ ابْنَ أُخْتٍ لَنَا فَقَالَ ﷺ إِنَّ ابْنَ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ قُرَيْشًا حَدِيثٌ عَهْدُهُمْ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ وَمُصِيبَةٍ وَإِنِّي أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَجْبُرَهُمْ وَأَتَأَلَّفَهُمْ أَمَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ النَّاسُ بِالدُّنْيَا وَتَرْجِعُونَ بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ إِلَى بُيُوتِكُمْ قَالُوا بَلَى فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لَوْ سَلَكَ النَّاسُ وَادِيًا أَوْ شِعْبًا وَسَلَكَتِ الأَنْصَارُ وَادِيًا أَوْ شِعْبًا لَسَلَكْتُ وَادِيَ الأَنْصَارِ أَوْ شِعْبَهُمْ  

The Prophet ﷺ sent for the Ansar (and when they came), he asked, 'Is there any stranger amongst you?" They said, "No except the son of our sister." Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The son of the sister of some people belongs to them." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3528)  

جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْأَنْصَارَ فَقَالَ أَفِيكُمْ أَحَدٌ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ؟ قَالُوا لَا إِلَّا ابْنَ أُخْتٍ لَنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ابْنُ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ أَوْ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَقَالَ إِنَّ قُرَيْشًا حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ وَمُصِيبَةٍ وَإِنِّي أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَجْبُرَهُمْ وَأَتَأَلَّفَهُمْ أَمَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ النَّاسُ بِالدُّنْيَا وَتَرْجِعُونَ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى بُيُوتِكُمْ؟ لَوْ سَلَكَ النَّاسُ وَادِيًا وَسَلَكَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ شِعْبًا لَسَلَكْتُ شِعْبَ الْأَنْصَارِ  

Is there someone alien among you? They said: No, but only the son of our sister. Upon this the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: The son of the sister of the people is included among the tribe, and (farther) said: The Quraish have recently abandoned Jahillyya and have just been delivered from distress; I, therefore, intend to help them and conciliate them. Don't you feel happy that the people should return with worldly riches and you return with the Messenger of Allah to your houses? (So far as my love for you is concerned I should say) if the people were to tread a valley and the Ansar tread a narraw path (in a mountain) I would tread the narrow path of the Ansar. جَمَعَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْأَنْصَارَ فَقَالَ أَفِيكُمْ أَحَدٌ مِنْ غَيْرِكُمْ؟ فَقَالُوا لَا إِلَّا ابْنُ أُخْتٍ لَنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ابْنُ أُخْتِ الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ أَوْ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ فَقَالَ إِنَّ قُرَيْشًا حَدِيثُ عَهْدٍ بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ وَمُصِيبَةٍ وَإِنِّي أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُجْبُرَهُمْ وَأَتَأَلَّفَهُمْ أَمَا تَرْضَوْنَ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ النَّاسُ بِالدُّنْيَا وَتَرْجِعُونَ بِرَسُولِ اللهِ إِلَى بُيُوتِكُمْ لَوْ سَلَكَ النَّاسُ وَادِيًا وَسَلَكَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ شِعْبًا لَسَلَكْتُ شِعْبَ الْأَنْصَارِ  

"إِنَّ قريشًا حديث عهد بِجَاهِلِيَّةٍ ومصيبَة، وإِنِّى أردت أن أجْبُرَهُمْ وَأتَألفَهُمْ أما تَرْضَونَ أنْ يَرْجعَ النَّاسُ بالدنيا وترجعونَ برسولِ اللَّهِ إِلى بيوتكم، لو سَلَكَ النَّاسُ وادِيًا أوْ شعبًا لسلكتُ وادى الأنصار وَشِعْبَهُمْ".
