ذِكْرُ إِبَاحَةِ غَسْلِ الْمُتَوَضِّئِ بَعْضَ أَعْضَائِهِ شَفْعًا وَبَعْضَهَا وِتْرًا فِي وُضُوئِهِ

ibnhibban:1093Abū Yaʿlá > Ṣāliḥ b. Mālik al-Khuwārizmī > ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Salamah > ʿAmr b. Yaḥyá from his father > ʿAbdullāh b. Zayd

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in our house, so he called for wudu (ablution). We brought him a container with water. He performed wudu by washing his face three times, washing his hands twice, wiping his head, and then he washed his feet."  

ابن حبّان:١٠٩٣أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْخُوَارِزْمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عِنْدَنَا فِي الْبَيْتِ فَدَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فَأَتَيْنَاهُ بِتَوْرٍ مِنْ صُفْرٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ فَأَقْبَلَ بِيَدَيْهِ وَأَدْبَرَ وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ»

Once Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and we brought out water for him in a brass pot. He performed ablution thus: He washed his face thrice, and his forearms to the elbows twice, then passed his wet hands lightly over the head from front to rear and brought them to front again and washed his feet (up to the ankles).

[Machine] About the ablution of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ , he called for water and washed his hands, rinsed his mouth, sniffed water into his nostrils three times, washed his face three times, washed his hands up to the elbows twice, wiped his head, and then washed his feet. Uthman said that Malik wiped his head and then passed his hands over his feet, and said, "This is how I saw the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ perform ablution."
