Once Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and we brought out water for him in a brass pot. He performed ablution thus: He washed his face thrice, and his forearms to the elbows twice, then passed his wet hands lightly over the head from front to rear and brought them to front again and washed his feet (up to the ankles).  

البخاري:١٩٧ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ

أَتَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَأَخْرَجْنَا لَهُ مَاءً فِي تَوْرٍ مِنْ صُفْرٍ فَتَوَضَّأَ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلاَثًا وَيَدَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَمَسَحَ بِرَأْسِهِ فَأَقْبَلَ بِهِ وَأَدْبَرَ وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ

"The Prophet performed Wudu. So he washed his face three times, and washed his hands two times each, and wiped his head, and washed his feet [two times]."  

الترمذي:٤٧ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ

ahmad:16456 – Hāshim b. al-Qāsim > ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz / Ibn ʿAbdullāh b. Abū Salamah al-Mājishūn > ʿAmr b. Yaḥyá from his father

[Machine] Abdullah ibn Zaid, the companion of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH), narrated: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came to us, so I brought him water to perform ablution. He washed his face three times, and his hands twice, and wiped his head with it. He started with the front part of his head and ended with the back. Then he wiped his ears and washed his feet.  

أحمد:١٦٤٥٦ – حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ الْمَاجِشُونَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ

[Machine] "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in our house, so he called for wudu (ablution). We brought him a container with water. He performed wudu by washing his face three times, washing his hands twice, wiping his head, and then he washed his feet."  

ابن حبّان:١٠٩٣ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ الْخُوَارِزْمِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ قَالَ

«كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ عِنْدَنَا فِي الْبَيْتِ فَدَعَا بِوَضُوءٍ فَأَتَيْنَاهُ بِتَوْرٍ مِنْ صُفْرٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَتَوَضَّأَ وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ وَمَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ فَأَقْبَلَ بِيَدَيْهِ وَأَدْبَرَ وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ»

[Machine] Abdullah bin Zaid, a companion of the Prophet, may ﷺ , said, "The Prophet, may ﷺ , came to us and we brought him water in a container made of clay. He performed ablution with it, washing his face three times and his hands up to his elbows two times each. He then wiped his head with the water and proceeded to wash his feet."  

البيهقي:١٢٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ح وَأنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو النَّضْرِ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَاهَانَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ قَالَا ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يُونُسَ ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ
