21. Book of Expeditions (5/9)
"Whoever keeps a horse for the cause of Allah out of faith in Allah and believing the promise of Allah, its feed, water, urine and dung will all count as Hasanat in the balance of his deeds." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3582)
The Prophet ﷺ said, "There is always goodness in horses." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3645)
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The example of the one who spends in the cause of Allah is like the one who holds back his horse from moving fast." We asked Ma'mar, "What does it mean to hold back the horse from moving fast?" He replied, "It means to give with both hands."
“The best of horses are those that are deep black, with a blaze on the forehead, white marks on the legs and white nose and upper lip, and with no whiteness on the right foreleg. If not deep-black, then reddish-brown, with these markings.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 2789)
It has been narrated on the authority of Abn Huraira that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to dislike the Shikal horse. (Using translation from Muslim 1875a)
It has been narrated on the authority of Abn Huraira that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to dislike the Shikal horse. (Using translation from Muslim 1875a)
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Whoever tethers a horse, the reward of seventy horses will be recorded for him, which will be carried for the sake of Allah. And if it does not follow, the reward of one horse that was carried for the sake of Allah will be recorded for him."
[Machine] We accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the Battle of Tabuk, and midday exerted intense effort. So they complained to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the fatigue they were experiencing. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ showed compassion towards them and said, "Proceed in the name of Allah." He then blew on their faces and said, "O Allah, lighten the burden for them in Your cause, for You bear the burden of the strong and the weak, the moist and the dry, on land and sea." Fadalah said, "When we reached the city (Madina), its crises began to surround us. So I said, 'This is the supplication of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for the strong and the weak. So what about the moist and the dry?' When we reached Sham (Syria), we engaged in the Battle of Quabrus. I saw the ships, but I didn't know their function until I remembered the supplication of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ."
A mule was given to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a gift, and we said: O Messenger of Allah, what if we mate donkeys with our mares, then we will have something like this? The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “That is only done by those who do not know.” (Using translation from Aḥmad 785)

[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ protected the war horses for the Muslims."
[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "There is no protection (defense) except for Allah and His Messenger."
[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "There is no sanctuary except for Allah and His Messenger."

‘Abd Allah bin Umar said “The Apostle of Allaah ﷺ held race between the horses which had been made lean by training from Al Hafya’. The goal was Thaniyyat Al Wada’ and he held a race between the horses Banu Zuraiq and ‘Abd Allaah was one of the racers. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2575)
"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ arranged for the Mudammar among horses to race from Al-Hafiya' to Thaniyyah Al-Wada', between which was a distance of six miles. And for whatever horse was not among the Mudammar, they raced from Thaniya Al-Wada' to the Masjid of Banu Zuraiq, between which was a distance of a mile. I was among those who raced, and my horse jumped along with me over a wall." (Using translation from Tirmidhī 1699)
The Prophet ﷺ used to hold a race between horses and kept the one in the fifth year at a long distance. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2577)
[Machine] Indeed, the Prophet ﷺ preceded between the horses and established a lead between them. He made a space between them and said, "There is no competition except in a racecourse or in a battle."
"There should be no awards (for victory in a competition) except for arrows, camels or horses." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3585)
[Machine] The Prophet ﷺ passed me, so I rushed ahead of him, and we stayed together until my flesh became tired. Then he passed me again, so I rushed ahead of him. Then the Prophet ﷺ said, "This is how it should be."

Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by some people from the tribe of Aslam practicing archery. He said, "O children of Ishmael! Throw (arrows), for your father was an archer. I am on the side of Bani so-andso," meaning one of the two teams. The other team stopped throwing, whereupon the Prophet ﷺ said, "What has happened to them?" They replied, "How shall we throw while you are with Bani so-andso?" He said, "Throw for I am with all of you." (Using translation from Bukhārī 3507)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allahﷺ went out and a group of people accepted Islam. He said, "Throw (stones) at the Banu Isma'il, for your father was a skilled archer. Throw, and I am with the son of al-Adra." So the people restrained themselves and said, "Who were you with? He defeated you." He said, "Throw, and I am with all of you."
