ذِكْرُ إِبَاحَةِ تَفْضِيلِ الْقُرَّحِ مِنَ الْخَيْلِ عَلَى غَيْرِهَا فِي الْغَايَةِ عِنْدَ السَّبَّاقِ

ibnhibban:4688 – Abū Yaʿlá > Abū Khaythamah > ʿUqbah b. Khālid > ʿUbaydullāh b. ʿUmar > Nāfiʿ > Ibn ʿUmar

The Prophet ﷺ used to hold a race between horses and kept the one in the fifth year at a long distance. (Using translation from Abū Dāʾūd 2577)

[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ advanced between the horses and advanced the wound to the extreme.
