I heard the Prophet ﷺ saying, "Indeed, anyone who fasts for one day for Allah's Pleasure, Allah will keep his face away from the (Hell) fire for (a distance covered by a journey of) seventy years."

سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بَعَّدَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا».

Every servant of Allah who observes fast for a day in the way of Allah, Allah would remove, because of this day, his face farther from the Fire (of Hell) to the extent of seventy years' distance.

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَصُومُ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلاَّ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا».

He who observes fast for a day in the way of Allah He would remove his face from the Hell to the extent of seventy years' distance.

عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ؓ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

From 'Urwah [bin Az-Zubair], and Sulaiman bin Yasar, that they reported to him from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever fasts a day in the cause of Allah, Allah shall distance him from the Fire by seventy autumns." One of them said "seventy" and the other said: "forty".

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ زَحْزَحَهُ اللَّهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا أَحَدُهُمَا يَقُولُ سَبْعِينَ وَالآخَرُ يَقُولُ أَرْبَعِينَ

That the Prophet ﷺ said: "A worshipper does not fast a day in the cause of Allah except that, that day (of fasting) distances the Fire from his face by seventy autumns."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يَصُومُ عَبْدٌ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلاَّ بَاعَدَ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ النَّارَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and sublime, Allah will remove his face away from the fire in return for the day (the distance of) seventy autumns.

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ﷻ زَحْزَحَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, Allah will separate between his face and the fire by (a distance of) seventy autumns in return for that day."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّارِ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, Allah, the mighty and sublime, will separate his face from the fire by (a distance of)seventy autumns."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ ﷻ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, Allah will separate his face from the fire by (a distance of) seventy years."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ﷻ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ سَبْعِينَ عَامًا

"There is no worshipper who fasts a day in the cause of Allah, the mighty and sublime, but Allah the mighty and sublime, will separate his face from the fire by (a distance of) seventy autumns in return for that day."

أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَصُومُ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ﷻ إِلاَّ بَعَّدَ اللَّهُ ﷻ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"I heard Abu Saeed Al-Khudri say: 'The Messenger of Allah said: Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah will separate his face from the fire by (a distance of) seventy autumns."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ﷻ بَاعَدَهُ اللَّهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, Allah will separate his face from the Fire by (a distance of) seventy autumns."'

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"The Messenger of Allah: 'There is no worshipper who fasts a day in the cause of Allah, but Allah, the most high, will separate (a distance of) seventy autumns between his face and the fire in return for that day."'

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ لاَ يَصُومُ عَبْدٌ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلاَّ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ النَّارَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"Whoever fasts a day in the cause of Allah, Allah will separate his face from the heat of Hell (a distance of) seventy autumns."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ حَرَّ جَهَنَّمَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"The Messenger of Allah said: Whoever fasts a day in the cause of Allah, Allah will separate his face (a distance of) seventy autumns from the fire in return for that day."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ النَّارَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, the mighty and sublime, Allah will separate him the distance of one hundred years from the fire."

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ﷻ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ جَهَنَّمَ مَسِيرَةَ مِائَةِ عَامٍ

“Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, Allah will keep the Fire away from his face the distance of seventy autumns (years) for that day.”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ النَّارَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

“Whoever fasts one day for the sake of Allah, Allah will move his face away from the Fire a distance of seventy autumns (years).”

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ زَحْزَحَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

[AI] From the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "There is no servant who fasts a day seeking the face of Allah except that Allah will distance his face from the Fire by a distance equivalent to seventy autumns."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ يَصُومُ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ بَيْنَ وَجْهِهِ وَبَيْنَ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The action of guarding a frontier for one day is better than fasting for a whole month and performing night prayers (qiyam)."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ رِبَاطُ يَوْمٍ خَيْرٌ مِنْ صِيَامِ شَهْرٍ وَقِيَامِهِ

“Whoever fasts one day for the sake of Allah, Allah will move his face away from the Fire a distance of seventy autumns (years).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1718)

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ زَحْزَحَ اللهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ بِذَلِكَ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, Allah will distance him from Hell a distance of seventy years."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَهُ اللهُ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ مَسِيرَةَ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"The Messenger of Allah: 'There is no worshipper who fasts a day in the cause of Allah, but Allah, the most high, will separate (a distance of) seventy autumns between his face and the fire in return for that day."' (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2251)

"Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, Allah will separate his face from the fire by (a distance of) seventy years." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2247)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ وَجْهَهُ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ مَسِيرَةَ سَبْعِينَ عَامًا

“Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, Allah will keep the Fire away from his face the distance of seventy autumns (years) for that day.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1717)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ النَّارَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ , he said, "Whoever fasts a day for the sake of Allah, Allah will distance him between him and the Hellfire a distance of seventy autumns."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّارِ مَسِيرَةَ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

“Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, Allah will keep the Fire away from his face the distance of seventy autumns (years) for that day.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1717)

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «لَا يَصُومُ عَبْدٌ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا»

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ لَغَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَرَوْحَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ رِبَاطُ يَوْمٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ صِيَامِ شَهْرٍ

أَن رَسولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ لَغَدْوَةٌ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَوْ رَوْحَةٌ خَيْرٌ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا وَمَا فِيهَا

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ who said, "Whoever fasts a day in the way of Allah, Allah will distance his face from the Fire a distance of one hundred years, equivalent to the running distance of a fast horse."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَعَّدَ اللهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ مَسِيرَةَ مِائَةِ عَامٍ رَكْضَ الْفَرَسِ الْجَوَادِ الْمُضْمَرِ»

"Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, the mighty and sublime, Allah will separate him the distance of one hundred years from the fire." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2254)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَعَّدَ اللهُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ جَهَنَّمَ مَسِيرَةَ مِائَةِ عَامٍ»

[AI] On the authority of the Prophet of Allah, ﷺ , he said, "Whoever fasts a day for the sake of Allah, Allah will distance him from Hellfire by a distance of one hundred years in the manner of a swiftly running horse."

عَنْ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَهُ اللهُ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ مِائَةَ عَامٍ رَكْضَ الْفَارِسِ الْجَوَادِ الْمُضَمَّرِ»

[AI] Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ : "Whoever fasts for a day in the cause of Allah, Allah will keep Hellfire away from him a distance of a hundred years of travel."

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ مِنْهُ جَهَنَّمَ مَسِيرَةَ مِائَةِ عَامٍ»

“Whoever fasts one day for the sake of Allah, Allah will move his face away from the Fire a distance of seventy autumns (years).” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 1718)

قَالَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ زَحْزَحَ اللهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever fasts a day for the sake of Allah, Allah will distance him between him and the Fire by that day, a distance of seventy autumns." Abu Abdur-Rahman said, "This is an error. We do not know anyone who followed Abu Mu'awiyah on this chain of narration."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّارِ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَذَا خَطَأٌ لَا نَعْلَمُ أَحَدًا تَابَعَ أَبَا مُعَاوِيَةَ عَلَى هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ

"Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, Allah will separate his face from the fire by (a distance of) seventy years." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2247)

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ وَجْهَهُ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ سَبْعِينَ عَامًا»

"Whoever fasts one day in the cause of Allah, the mighty and sublime, Allah will separate him the distance of one hundred years from the fire." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2254)

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ مِنْهُ جَهَنَّمَ مَسِيرَةَ مِائَةِ عَامٍ»

[AI] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said: "Whoever fasts a day for the sake of Allah, Allah will distance his face from the fire for seventy autumns."

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ بِذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَجْهَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

[AI] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying: "Whoever fasts a day for the sake of Allah, Allah will distance his face from the Fire by seventy fall seasons."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا

"مَن شَابَ شَيبَةً في سبيل الله تَباعَدت عنه جهنمُ مَسِيرة خَمْسمِائة عام".

"مَنْ صَامَ يَومًا في سبِيلِ اللهِ زَحْزحَ اللهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ بذَلكَ اليومِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا".

"مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا في سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ وَجْهَهُ مِنْ جَهَنَّمَ سَبْعِينَ عَامًا".

"مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا في سَبِيلِ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ مِنْهُ جَهَنَّمَ مَسِيرَةَ مِائَةِ عَامٍ".

"مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا يَبْتَغِي بذَلِكَ وَجْهَ اللهِ بَاعَدَ اللهُ بَينَهُ وَبَينَ النَّار خَمْسِينَ عَامًا لِلرَّاكِب المُسْرعِ".
