from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that he said, "Whoever receives something of favor from his brother without seeking honor or reciprocity then he should accept it and not return it back for it is provision that Allah has led him to ˹receive˺"

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ مَنْ جَاءَهُ مِنْ أَخِيهِ مَعْرُوفٌ مِنْ غَيْرِ إِشْرَافٍ وَلَا مَسْأَلَةٍ فَلْيَقْبَلْهُ وَلَا يَرُدَّهُ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ رِزْقٌ سَاقَهُ اللهُ إِلَيْهِ

[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was asked about the wealth of the ruler. He said, "Whatever Allah has given you of it without asking or oversight, then take it and support yourself." Al-Hasan (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "There is no harm in it as long as one does not vie for it or seek favour in return."

سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ أَمْوَالِ السُّلْطَانِ؟ فَقَالَ مَا أَتَاكَ اللهُ مِنْهَا مِنْ غَيْرِ مَسْأَلَةٍ وَلَا إِشْرَافٍ فَكُلْهُ وَتَمَوَّلْهُ قَالَ وقَالَ الْحَسَنُ لَا بَأْسَ بِهَا مَا لَمْ يَرْحَلْ إِلَيْهَا أَوْ يُشْرِفْ لَهَا

("خُذْهُ فَتَمَوَّلْهُ أَوْ تَصَدَّقْ بِهِ، وَما جاءَكَ مِن هَذَا المالِ وأَنت غَيْرُ مُشْرِفٍ وَلَا سَائِلٍ فَخُذْهُ، وما لا، فلا تُتْبِعْهُ نَفْسَك".

"مَا أتَاكَ الله مِنْ أمْوَالِ السُّلطَان مِنْ غَيرِ مَسْألةٍ وَلَا إِشْرَافٍ فَكُلهُ وَتموَّلهُ".

"مَا أتَاكَ الله مِن هَذَا المَالِ مِنْ غَيرِ مسألة، وَلَا إِشْرَافٍ فَخُذْهُ فَتَمَوَّلهُ أوْ تَصدَّقْ بِهِ، وَمَا لا فَلَا تُتْبِعْهُ نَفْسَكَ".

"مَا أَتَاكَ مِنْ غيرِ مَسْألَةٍ وَلا إِشْرَافِ نَفْسٍ فكُلُهُ وَتَمَوَّلهُ".

"مَنْ بَلَغَهُ مَعْرُوفٌ منْ أَخيه منْ غَيرِ مَسْألَة وَلا إِشْرَافِ نَفْسٍ فَليَقْبَلهُ وَلا يَرُدَّهُ، فَإِنَّمَا هَوَ رِزْقٌ سَاقَهُ اللهُ إِلَيه".
