[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ sent him to Yemen, the Prophet ﷺ went out with him, advising him with advice, and Mu'adh rode a mount and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ walked under his mount. When they finished, the Prophet ﷺ said, "O Mu'adh, it may be that you will not meet me after this year, and perhaps you will pass by my mosque and my grave." The Sheikh said, "And this is in his second mission."  

البيهقي:٢٠١٥١أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ بِبَغْدَادَ أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ دَرَسْتَوَيْهِ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ السَّكُونِيِّ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ ؓ

أَنَّهُ لَمَّا بَعَثَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ مَعَهُ يُوصِيهِ بِوَصِيَّةٍ وَمُعَاذٌ رَاكِبٌ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي تَحْتَ رَاحِلَتِهِ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ يَا مُعَاذُ أَنْتَ عَسَى أَنْ لَا تَلْقَانِيَ بَعْدَ عَامِي هَذَا وَلَعَلَّكَ أَنْ تَمُرَّ بِمَسْجِدِي وَقَبْرِي قَالَ الشَّيْخُ وَهَذَا فِي بَعْثَتِهِ الثَّانِيَةِ

[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent him to Yemen, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went with him and Mu'adh was riding while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ walked underneath his mount. When they finished, he said, "O Mu'adh, perhaps you will not see me after this year, but perhaps you will pass by my mosque and my grave." Mu'adh cried due to the thought of parting from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, then he turned and faced the direction of Madinah and said, "Indeed, those who fear Allah and are righteous are the closest to me, no matter where they may be."  

أحمد:٢٢٠٥٢حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُغِيرَةِ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ حَدَّثَنِي رَاشِدُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ قَالَ

لَمَّا بَعَثَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ خَرَجَ مَعَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُوصِيهِ وَمُعَاذٌ رَاكِبٌ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي تَحْتَ رَاحِلَتِهِ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ يَا مُعَاذُ إِنَّكَ عَسَى أَنْ لَا تَلْقَانِي بَعْدَ عَامِي هَذَا وَلَعَلَّكَ أنَ تَمُرَّ بِمَسْجِدِي هَذَا وَقَبْرِي فَبَكَى مُعَاذٌ جَشَعًا لِفِرَاقِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ فَأَقْبَلَ بِوَجْهِهِ نَحْوَ الْمَدِينَةِ فَقَالَ إِنَّ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِي الْمُتَّقُونَ مَنْ كَانُوا وَحَيْثُ كَانُوا

[Machine] "When Mu'adh was sent by the Prophet (PBUH), he accompanied him. Mu'adh was riding while the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was walking under his mount. When they finished, the Prophet (PBUH) said, "O Mu'adh, it is possible that you will not see me after this year, and perhaps you will pass by my mosque and my grave." Mu'adh ibn Jabal then burst into tears out of eagerness to part with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Do not cry, O Mu'adh, for crying is from Satan."

أَنَّ مُعَاذًا لَمَّا بَعَثَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَرَجَ مَعَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُوصِيهِ وَمُعَاذٌ رَاكِبٌ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي تَحْتَ رَاحِلَتِهِ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ يَا مُعَاذُ إِنَّكَ عَسَى أَنْ لَا تَلْقَانِي بَعْدَ عَامِي هَذَا وَلَعَلَّكَ أَنْ تَمُرَّ بِمَسْجِدِي وَقَبْرِي فَبَكَى مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ جَشَعًا لِفِرَاقِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا تَبْكِ يَا مُعَاذُ لَلْبُكَاءُ أَوْ إِنَّ الْبُكَاءَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ  

Crying is from Satan

that when he (the Prophet ﷺ) sent him to Yemen, he left along with him advising him. Muʿādh was riding while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was walking ˹next˺ to his ride. When they were done ˹reaching the farewell point˺, he said, "O Muʿādh, it may be that you you may not meet me after this year of mine and that you may walk by my Masjid and my grave." Muʿādh b. Jabal then started to cry out of sadness to part from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Don't cry O Muʿādh for the crying ˹loudly˺ is from Satan."  

الطبراني:١٧٤٤٠حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ثنا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ ثنا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ
