"يَا مُعاذَ إِنَّكَ عَسَى أَنْ لا تَلْقَانِى بَعدَ عَامِى هَذَا، وَلَعَلَّكَ أَنْ تَمُرَّ بِمسْجِدِى وَقَبْرِى، فَبَكَى مُعَاذُ فَقَالَ: لا تَبْكِ يَا مُعَاذُ فَإِنَّ الْبُكَاءَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ".

[Machine] "When Mu'adh was sent by the Prophet (PBUH), he accompanied him. Mu'adh was riding while the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was walking under his mount. When they finished, the Prophet (PBUH) said, "O Mu'adh, it is possible that you will not see me after this year, and perhaps you will pass by my mosque and my grave." Mu'adh ibn Jabal then burst into tears out of eagerness to part with the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Do not cry, O Mu'adh, for crying is from Satan."  

أحمد:٢٢٠٥٤حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ أَبُو الْيَمَانِ حَدَّثَنَا صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو عَنْ رَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ السَّكُونِيِّ

أَنَّ مُعَاذًا لَمَّا بَعَثَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ خَرَجَ مَعَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يُوصِيهِوَمُعَاذٌ رَاكِبٌ وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي تَحْتَ رَاحِلَتِهِ فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ قَالَ يَا مُعَاذُ إِنَّكَ عَسَى أَنْ لَا تَلْقَانِي بَعْدَ عَامِي هَذَا وَلَعَلَّكَ أَنْ تَمُرَّ بِمَسْجِدِي وَقَبْرِي فَبَكَى مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ جَشَعًا لِفِرَاقِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا تَبْكِ يَا مُعَاذُ لَلْبُكَاءُ أَوْ إِنَّ الْبُكَاءَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ

that when he (the Prophet ﷺ) sent him to Yemen, he left along with him advising him. Muʿādh was riding while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was walking ˹next˺ to his ride. When they were done ˹reaching the farewell point˺, he said, "O Muʿādh, it may be that you you may not meet me after this year of mine and that you may walk by my Masjid and my grave." Muʿādh b. Jabal then started to cry out of sadness to part from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The the Prophet ﷺ said to him, "Don't cry O Muʿādh for the crying ˹loudly˺ is from Satan."
